The Day Of The Triffids to return to BBC next year

Death of Grass for me. WiW is a great read though.

Alas, Babylon?

No. I've heard of it, but never actually seen it in print (but some irony I've never been able to understand all the good SF goes out of print and all the dross stays on forever) so never had the chance to read it.

^^ Indeed! :D

Evangelion - I've seen your pics...you would hit that, I promise.

I've seen her pics... and I can promise you that I wouldn't! If a woman doesn't have clearly defined hips, breasts and a backside I am not interested.

About £5 at Abebooks, it's on Amazon's site too :) Really good read. Personally I enjoyed it more than both Christopher books. I'd also recommend 'Down to a Sunless Sea' by David Graham

I'm also reading 'A Wrinkle in the Skin' by John Christopher, much the same as the other 2.

Good SF never goes out of print. I bet you can get just about anything you want in Penguin Classics.

*edit*

Sure enough, I've just found The Death of Grass on the Penguin Classics website for £9.

It only went to reprint in Mar 09 ;) It was out of print for sometime before that as I was looking for it for ages, and had to buy a 2nd hand copy for £15+

Phwoar.

To be fair, I think those photos are from 2007. But I doubt she's improved much since then.

Definitely a case of "what-the-hell-do-people-see-in-that-chick?" for me.

I have read those two. The Graham was a pretty bigger seller when it came out. I seem to remember reading another book by him, but I may be imagining it.

Most of it does, but about 10% keeps coming back on "classic" editions. But mainly I mean what you see in book stores: just because it's "New" on-line doesn't mean that it's still in print - there are warehouses full of these things. Book shopping on-line is a pale shadow of book shopping at a proper shop. It's far easier to tell if a book you've never heard of will be worth reading for one thing.
