John Christopher was writing far better EotW books att he same time, with The Death of Grass being the best known (The World in Winter is probably better).
Death of Grass for me. WiW is a great read though.
Alas, Babylon?

Yeah but, Joely Richardson....you would wouldn't you?![]()
No. She's skinny and breastless.

Evangelion - I've seen your pics...you would hit that, I promise.
No. I've heard of it, but never actually seen it in print (but some irony I've never been able to understand all the good SF goes out of print and all the dross stays on forever) so never had the chance to read it.

About £5 at Abebooks, it's on Amazon's site tooReally good read. Personally I enjoyed it more than both Christopher books. I'd also recommend 'Down to a Sunless Sea' by David Graham
I'm also reading 'A Wrinkle in the Skin' by John Christopher, much the same as the other 2.
Good SF never goes out of print. I bet you can get just about anything you want in Penguin Classics.
*edit*
Sure enough, I've just found The Death of Grass on the Penguin Classics website for £9.
I've seen her pics... and I can promise you that I wouldn't!If a woman doesn't have clearly defined hips, breasts and a backside I am not interested.
