Is it just me or does it annoy you that we still have to give out 56k warnings in 2009!

If anything it should be them apologizing for not having conventional broadband!

If i make a post with pictures and people start complaining about the size of them, I get angry!!

Upgrade your internet connection then you cheap skate! IMO the days of giving 56k warnings should be over

Just a rant :D

I've not seen a 56k warning for a long time, what time did you just come from?

I don't think people give them to warn 56k users. I think they are generally used to indicate a post with a lot of pictures, which might not be appropriate to look at during work (a screen of text could be anything to an overlooking coworker, a screen full of someones scalextrix pictures is a bit more tricky to conceal!).

I long for the simple days of 56k max speeds, back then people didn't make so many pointless threads or find so much to moan about as it took to long and they were paying by the minute!

When I was on a 56k modem my computer never exploded through entering a thread with loads of images so I dont really understand what purpose 56k warnings serve anyway

Don't know what age you've been living in :D

how much is 56K these days?

Generally more expensive than 2mb anyway. My uncle was on it and we told him to move to a adsl. BT wouldn;t let him upgrade (for free) and insisted he paid out his 56k contract with them even though he wanted to upgrade his package (and stay with BT). So if he did upgrade he would have his standard 56k bill + 2mb package bill. Think a little bit of rage got it fixed.
