The Division. Are we interested?

I was quite interested in this game after seeing the E3 2014 demo, but after this year's showing it's definitely gone down on my anticipated games list. Not so much because of the graphical downgrade, but because from the looks of the gameplay I could see myself only playing it for a couple of weeks before I would get bored and move on. That may have something to do with the fact that I've been getting a bit tired of shooters in general recently though.

My excitement for this game has diminished each time there has been new releases of gameplay. The 'original' (E3 2013) trailer and gameplay looked fantastic, absolutely fantastic. However at each E3 since then (2014, 2015) there have been considerable 'downgrades' and the visual fidelity looked considerably worse each time, not to mention game play looks to have gotten 'simpler' too.

I would not be surprised if it is not as 'open world' as it presented at E3 2013 either.

I wonder what it will take for people to stop taking Ubisoft seriously.

When I first read about this idea it sounded amazing then I read a first look style review in PC Gamer from 2013/14 and I really thought gaming was coming along very nicely but now after seeing actual videos of it I am mortified, it wasn't what I was expecting at all and the hold ups to the release kind of make me think they wanted to stick some in app junk in there as Destiny has done and really rinse the EFF out of us, even when watching the Funhaus boys chat with the Devs they tried to escape the levelling up and daily grind questions

I saw a journalist talking about this, he said he would be surprised if there was 'total' freedom of movement through the city; he said he would not be surprised if the city was split up in to smaller playable maps.

That is something i also expect however i don't think it will be too drastic, maybe 4-5 different areas depending on the size of the map.

It won't be. We watched a video at Gamescom before being allowed to play that essentially downgraded the main game to open roam offline (with co-op jump in) with the only 'online versus' being in designated 'Dark Zones'.

This comes off the back of in house and Alpha testing that basically confirmed that people cannot meet in the free roam game as there is zero insentive to NOT kill a player. You gain nothing from it so all testers were KOS'ing all the time.

This apparently didn't 'generate the environment we were looking for'.

Division and RB6... Ubisoft... More like Ull'b-disappointed.

The more and more of The Division I see, the more I realise it won't live up to people's expectations. Now I'm absolutely expecting it to release and play like Destiny. The Division seems like an FPS combined with an MMORPG, which didn't do anything good for Destiny. All I will say is that I advise folks to not pre-order or get taken in by the hype. If you are excited for the game or you like it, wait till it releases/has unbiased real-world (none of that Konami-style review event nonsense) reviews and then buy it. Heck, you may find it saves you from day 1 connection issues, which seem to be as standard now, a sad thing that.
