No. When you go to the official Division site to put in the beta key, it will ask you which platform you want to redeem your key for.

I would assume so. On my Uplay account for "Your alpha / beta access." it lists my beta access for The Division for the PC platform.
I've just tried to redeem a key that I bought, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've visited the official site to activate it and it tells me that I'll be sent a notification to tell me when it's added to uplay, but nothing so far and its been about an hour

Same thing happened to me. It took a couple hours to show up on my account at:
https://account-uplay.ubi.com/en-GB/beta-access
Mine ended up showing up as The Division Closed Beta 1 for PC so I assume I get to play with others this weekend. Otherwise not much harm done as it was cheaper than a cuppa tea.
Accepted everyone that's added me. Pre-loading now and getting the full speed on my line which is pretty good going as no doubt the servers will be hammered tonight.
I got an email advising me and on my games list it showed up and I just clicked preload. 26.26GB so had to clear a wee bit of space on my SSD. Should be all done in a couple of hours!

Still nothing in my email, had an email from Ubi saying they'd let me know when it's ready even. Also accepted most that added me bar one..

I didn't get an email from them. I just went straight to my beta access page on the Uplay website. Try checking there.
It seems to have shown up now, albeit only on the beta section of the uplay website. I'm still waiting for it to appear in the uplay client though. Yeah, 50p was all it cost me. Can't complain at that price.

I smell and OcUK clan forming, another reason I truly hope this doesn't flop. Do we know the max number of players in PVP / squad size? Read that the DZ may support 50-100 players though might have been an old article. Suppose the bigger the player number the less likely people can run away with absurd K/D ratios, easy enough to hide and snipe 4 people, different proposition against that many what with stray rounds and blind grenade throwing........
edit: I take it people can only preload atm and aren't able to launch into the game until Friday? Would have to make my excuses to work and start driving home otherwise.
My understanding is that parties are of 4 people only.
