I missed Prattlers comments, but I had a dream two nights ago where I got Sentrys kneepads with two mod slots, rolled them which magically gave me 700k toughness and 350k DPS...........

Another reason why I need a break haha

Just a quick question. It seems gear has changed quite a bit in the new patch. I was mainly going for DPS but looks like toughness is the new fad.
Since I reworked my green gear towards dps, does it now mean I have to start getting new green gear to get my toughness up?
I played a bit in DZ last night and got whipped where i could normally survive quite well.

Toughness isn't the new fad, but the new armour mitigation is - 75%.

75% is the point to aim for with armour, the same as it was before with the 65% cap - stamina values still remain the same target as before.

For example, I am on 75% armour mitigation with 115k stamina resulting in 455k toughness but I still have 240k DPS.

I would more than happily let that toughness drop to 400k if I knew my DPS would massively increase(which it would) but I don't want to, as that isn't my style of play.

I would rather still, have a relative balance in my gearsets.

What I would advise, like I have said to a lot of people which has worked. Grind stuff like CS/FL on hard, weekly HVT's and some DZ to get a good gearset(regardless of gearset 2 piece/3 piece bonuses etc) that will give you stats you are "happy enough" with and gives you good survivability...

After that, just keep running DZ, collect some gear sets and start piecing together 2 set bonuses/3 set bonuses etc.

That's what I did, and I am more than happy with both my builds now (toughness and DPS)(toughness and electronics)

What I don't understand is I have a 240 glove for instance, but my 163 level yellow still gives me better overall values?
 
I'm having real trouble getting in CS. Keep getting a loading screen after running in and chucked back at the start.

That's because the leader has started the Incursion before all members of the squad spawned in, now when you go to join in, you get kicked back to the beginning.

Gear score is a guide only - stats and talents are king.

And yes, with each gear set you get special bonuses for having 2, 3 and 4 pieces of the same equipped.
 
Just made a Predator 4 set and it is pretty handy... but I am so used to the Tactician's skill build and ridiculous overheal now that I just can't get on with it :(

I love my Pred 4 + Sentry 2 set!! Combined with the Tac-ACR it melts the ****ers :D

Still carry 20k skill too which is JUST about bareable for me :D

Have same,sadly my Pred holster is just with 2 stats - no electr,and no matter what i do i cant get one with all 3.
Same story as with centry gloves for me :D

I need more skill to add to the build. Currently at 11k which is awful. Don't even get an overheal!

I've done 2 sentry as well for a pure PVP build, have 2 Final Measures for PVE.

Thanks man, slowly learning all of this. Figured if I have 3 greens they are ok, adding a 3rd of the same name will actually boost the other 3 and make the 4 set bonus. Will have a look later tonight, pretty sure I have quite a few sentry and striker's.
 
I've spent quite a few hours over the past couple of days getting myself organised with gear.

Like most of you I have quite a few set pieces but the mostly it is Nomad (7 pieces) and Lone Star (7 pieces).

The majority of all the set gear is 214 with only 5 pieces being 240 (and all different sets).

The best combination I have come up with is 4 x Predator and 2 x Striker. I can also run 3 x Striker/2 x Sentry with a HE 3 stat holster; 2 x Striker/2 x Sentry/ 2 x Final Measure or 2 x Tac (my only 2 Tac pieces)/2 x Pred (or Hunters)/2 x Sentry.

I like how I now have options whereas before it was either grind and craft or put up with the little that dropped.

I've also changed up my skills and talents to use with this new combo.

With the 4 x Predators and 2 x Striker (running solo) I will use Tactical Scanner with Smart Cover (Recharger mod) and Critical Save, Tech Support, Strike Back and Shrapnel talents. With just on 20k skillpower the Smart Cover will last most of a daily HVT mission or be ready as soon as I need it again.

There seems to be some discussion as to whether Shrapnel procs with the bleed caused by Predators, so I figure it is worth trying in case it does. I ran the daily HVT missions yesterday and I didn't notice it proc but there is only a 30% chance of it happening so I may have been unlucky.

Haven't had a chance to thank Mario, Prattler and Definlogy for three quick runs through CS last weekend. Ended up with a 204 M1a with 160% headshot damage on the last run, so thanks guys for that. The last run we didn't have anyone go down so it was well done.

I'll be up for CM FL this weekend if anyone is about - I need a new Strikers pack as I rolled the one I have for extra skillpower prior to 1.2 bringing in toughness and now to roll extra armour on it will cost me around 250k credits. I'm at 70% mitigation and need to squeeze out that extra 5%.

I have had a few like that and I don't like the burst fire but for the increase in DPS I have just put up with it lol

I picked up a 204 Military SA-58 with good talents and doing 12k damage. I used it on a couple of daily missions to test it out and couldn't come to grips with the burst fire. Takes some getting used to, particularly after using something like a LVOA-C with a ROF mag.

On return to the BoO I sold it!

I decided to dismantle mine. Despite having nice stats, I just couldn't adapt to it. If only it had been full auto:D
