I recently just installed all the updates and jumped on for 10mins after stopping back in June maybe?
Still really like this game and after a long break I'm ready to pick it back up.
What's this tier thing all about?
Best place to grind still dz?
Survival mode, is this an added on purchase?
Hopefully see some of you guys on discord again soon.
Right noob question time.
In the Survival area you get the loot, is that loot you can use in WT5 etc? Like 256 gear or is it only gear you can use in the Survival area?
Do you start a fresh in the Survival area or do you go in with the stats/weapons you currently have like Underground?
I didn't watch any PTS or many videos about it, just saw some clips about freezing in the snow.

First survival done with Nexus, wow what an experience, love this mode to bits. Absolutely fantastic, looks amazing, feels amazing, plays amazing, heart pumping at the end or what. Had 3 minutes life left, had 6 hunters on the extract, they killed the group in front of us before we could get there, all their lovely yellow loot was scattered around the place, and we finished 5 or 6 remaining hunters and extracted. Sadly, we were already full with loot so had to leave all the lovely shineys behind
But yeah, wow, I'm in love with Survival. Fair play Nex, was epic that, so atmospheric playing with the "neutral light" setting as well.

Reading that Tony has got me interested in doing Survival again. In truth, I wasn't a fan in the PTS but mainly because I was rubbish but you have made me give it another try :D

You go in all as an equal low Bob Josh, no gear apart from pistol and civies.
Regarding loot, no idea, got about 9 sealed caches to open later when I get in. It was after 11 me and nex got out last night and was shattered. Maybe Gamble best person to answer, he's a proper Division guru lol.

Good good, this is how the whole game should play out in my opinion, well certainly in the DZ anyway. I'd love that so much, the whole DZ being designed around the Survival game. I've not had the true feels of survival since early DayZ which blew me away.

So, my main task last night was to get my 2 piece Nomad and Alpha. After a couple of hours, I managed to get the build sorted. However, improving my firearms and electronics was more of a chore. Still running lvl 33 mods but that will eventually change.
Now i just need to settle on a weapon and roll Meticulous

Lvl 34 firearms mods with armour will bring you back up, did for me in 1.4. Was sat around 57%

Nice build, Snips. Are you seeing much of a benefit to having 120k elec? I've been running mine at 90k and honestly (previously 66k), I haven't noticed any difference.
Not really but I have some talents on my weapons which were inactive due to electronics being too low. I'm running a single Prototype Electronics Mod which gave me the boost i needed. I would imagine it'll come down but for now it's working just fine.
All of my survival runs have taken around 1 hour, but that was mainly because I wanted to make sure i was fully geared to get a succesful extraction. It could be done quicker and Im going to aim for < 45 minutes tonight! Its so fun!
The gear you get in the extraction in terms of what you wear doesnt leave with you but its only GS163 HE as a max anyway so it doesnt really matter.
What matters is the XP you gain via it as that gets turned into survival caches with 4 HE/GS/Weapon items within it, and also the max of 6 caches you can extract and these can either be:
Weaponds cache
Gear cache
Mod cache
You start with a pistol and all green gear and a coldness rating of 0.
Depends on the world tier but in world tier 4 the maximum armour you can get without ear talents that give armour is 61.4%.
World tier 5 this is 56.7% as a maximum.
So for world tier 4 anything between 53% and 60% is more than sufficient for PVE, PVP will need as close to cap as you can get.
world tier 5 - I have 52% currently and feel squishy still so maybe try and get as close to that 56.7% as possible.

For anyone going to do survival for the first time, just bear in mind it is easy for it to last upwards of 1 hour and the absolute maximum reward you can get for extracting 6 caches is 30 items - ranging from gear to weapons, mods etc.
So in terms of an efficient loot grind - its not really unless you get proficient enough to speed run.
However, the feeling of reward from completion is just fantastic. I get so excited playing it and so nervous when im walking to the extraction knowing im going to have a fight on my hands when I get there!!
Max 30 items for 1 hours of gameplay is good but obv doesnt compare to other parts of the game like UG for return rate, but tbh, its worth it - feels much better

call me weird Gamble, but I play Survival for the feel and atmosphere, the loot is an after thought for me and a bonus in this mode.
I'm frantically searching for a decent price on the DLC...Survival sounds incredible and very immersive

The loot is a plus with it and it feels like a nice reward but I agree with you!!!
Imagine if you were doing a normal boss run and all of a sudden a storm rolled in and you had to do a mini survival, over the whole game inc the DZ!!
