Why didn’t you see this coming?

Some of you did, but some of you ,with names I respect, are scrambling about trying to shift your 1080ti, 2080s and 2080ti cards like school kids chasing a football ! :D

:D

You all know about the easyrider shuffle! :p

The funny thing is, no one is selling their 5700XT's rofl no panic from AMD owners lol... wonder why lol

yeah anyone who didn't see this is quite frankly a bit thick... it was always going to happen and is what happens when you buy an overinflated price on an existing card. You wouldn't buy a house that was overinflated and then whine and moan when it's worth less than you bought... same principle. Glad you got shut of yours fella!

I could sell my nitro+ but I'm fine with it and not too fussed about RT just yet. Will see what AMD bring to the table and even then I probably will wait it out for another 6 months. Not gonna spend £500+ for any gpu regardless.

Losing hundreds overnight is bad but creating a new thread pretending that selling before a new release is your own original idea is even worse :D

We've had plenty of posts already about this in the main thread, have you created this thread purely to **** those owners off or something?

...and before someone says it, no, I'm not a 2080ti owner.

No talking in the first person is worse ! :D ( see thread title)

Few people mentioned the famous shuffle , some didn’t know what it was...

Most RTX2080 and RTX2080ti owners probably knew their cards were awful price/performance cards. If they want to waste their money that's up to them but for the rest of us its upsetting because it allowed Nvidia to see that people would pay more and shifted the stack pricing up.

For me, i use to pretty much get the Best/2nd Best New card every year for 15 years but stopped that when got a GTX970, followed by a new £350ish GTX980ti (as GTX1080 had landed). When the GTX1080ti arrived i wasent convinced enough to switch so thought would wait for RTX2080/RTX2080ti. I was utterly gutted having waited so long that when they finally arrived the RTX2080 was pretty much the same performance as GTX1080ti and the RTX2080ti was far too expensive to justify. That card (RTX2080ti) should have been the replacement at £650-700 area.

So its been a long wait for me but im looking forward to finally upgrading and probably getting reference RTX3080 (love the nvidia design) for a reasonable £650, that will offer about 4 times+ the performance of my GTX980ti. Good things come to those that wait.

I don't really see the issue. If you wanted to play at 4k for the last year or so it really needed to be a 2080ti. So people paid what they had to if that was important to them.

Yes they've taken a big price hit, but then the 3080 is going to be cheaper to buy than they expected so what's the problem? If the 3080 had been £850 and your 2080ti only took a hit to £600, the price to upgrade is the same as now.

I really don't get the fuss.

Some people have nothing better to do and are on the wind-up. Possibly bored as they've sold their high-end GPU weeks ago and still have a few weeks to wait till they can game properly again on their new card?

No, The easyrider shuffle requires a backup card of some description to be in place to minimise fuss through the transitional period.:)

The only problem with the shuffle is having to drop down to playing browser/mobile games for an indeterminate amount of time. I”d rather take the hit.

Any backup card is going to have to be pretty poor to stop you losing a fair amount on that as well.

Those 2080ti owners who were playing at 4k don't have much choice for a "backup" 4k card.

I shuffled for the first time with my 2080S and so glad I am that I did! Means I rented it at £20/month and just need to put in £150 to get myself a 3080!

I am a convert.

I can go without gaming or play red alert remastered on iGPU for a few weeks. Some people on here act like their GPU is oxygen.

If they had sold up weeks ago it's potentially 2 months without a proper card. Yes, there are way more important things in life than losing some sell on value for a graphics card which is why threads like this one are poop.

No shuffling was done, you let something go for a reasonable price and then have a pretty long wait before new and shiny shows up.

Sold my GPU on Monday and will put a pre order in.

People have literally and actually waited years for ampere? I'm ok waiting a few weeks to get the second most powerful GPU money can buy for a third gen in a row (GTX 1080, 2080s now 3080)it seems YOU are not ok with ME waiting a few weeks.

What about my reply to you said I wasn't okay with your choice? You are the one insinuating that people who've held onto their cards must be desperate to game. There are loads of reasons why people won't sell up, for example, we don't have proper benchmarks yet, some people never sell stuff on 2nd hand in case of any hassle, some are skipping this gen or waiting for refresh Ti/Super models, the list goes on.

A backup card can be any card that allows you to use your pc ...if you can’t not game or turn some settings down for a few weeks then your a spoilt brat mummies boy :p

Agreed...I don’t game in summer and the cycle of new cards is timely for the winter season when I game again. :D The shuffle is were it’s at :D
