The easyrider shuffle- Many of you have failed....

I have been doing this for over 10 years, well before you coined the term easyshuffle in these parts ;)

Net loss is probably not much as I have actually made profit on a few occasions too. Last one was a Radeon R9 Nano that I got for £150 off Lt Matt and sold to someone for £300. I think maybe he was a miner or something. Lol.

Getting a 3080 soon and I think it will be the biggest deprecating card I ever own making a loss of around £100-£200 in 18-24 month I keep it.

I could sell my nitro+ but I'm fine with it and not too fussed about RT just yet. Will see what AMD bring to the table and even then I probably will wait it out for another 6 months. Not gonna spend £500+ for any gpu regardless.

Same.

5700 XT is for quite a different audience though. If we did "the shuffle", we might have saved ourselves £50. Possibly £100, tops. Not even remotely the same situation 2080/Super/Ti/Titan owners find themselves in :p

It's still a capable 1440p/UW card. And the Nitro+ cooler is a great design. May as well wait and see how things unfold. Worst case scenario, by mid-2021 these cards are only worth £150-£200. That still represents a meagre loss compared to many 2000-series owners ;)

I'll take your easy shuffle and raise you a truffle shuffle.

:p ^^^ That's easy lusting after the 3090 btw. heh.

So you are not going to buy a 3090?

I think I will get one to try out while I wait for the Titan launch, yes there will be a Titan card as NVidia are not going to pass up on a Halo card like that.

The 3090 is not even the full fat die so anyone who buys one needs to remember there will be cards launched later that come in above it like the 3090 Super or Ti and the Titan.

sorry to derail the thread from people back slapping about ripping people off for old cards, but are any of the new cards full fat die yet?

3070 and 3080 are both 320 big memory interfaces right? Are they both cut down from 384 or actually made to be 320bit?

I was a shuffling when you were in short pants bro! :p
You must be as old as our resident Kaapstad then :p

Haha. Had a feeling you would not be able to resist and want to join all the fun that will be happening soon with benching. Any excuse to fire up 3DMark eh? ;)

Yeah, so a lot of people from what I am seeing are under the illusion they are buying the top ampere card. It is going to be funny seeing their reaction when one, maybe even two better cards get released over the next 12 months.

I hope your are getting yourself ready Kaaps, the 18th (and onwards) is going to be a busy day for you. All the bench threads going to light up with new results. Your Titan RTX and Volta going to get leapfrogged by my 3080 ;)

Often, I find the whole thing a bit tedious (rushing to sell your card and buying the new card at a price gouged release price).

I would prefer just to take the hit when selling, and wait for a really good deal/discount code off the new card somewhere down the line. That way the used price you get and the new card price isn't much different, and you then don't have to be without a good gpu for a while.

Although, I never buy the silly priced cards (normally an xx70 , sometimes xx80 buyer) so the amounts we are talking in terms of potential loss are pretty tiny.

Never felt that way about it myself. I always have a decent spare card, hardly ever play multiplayer so happy to transition to less graphically intensive games in my steam library while waiting. Plus there are so many others things I have besides pc gaming to keep me entertained, so it works out fine.

TNA you're not allowed to buy a 3080 it MUST be 3070.

This forum has an impressive amount of douches telling people how they should live their lives.

I saw a child litter the other day while with his parents. They saw it and did nothing. I just looked at them and sure enough they then told the child to pick it up and keep it until he could bin.

Some parents need help and support to bring up their kids

People blame the kids , they are our future . More often than not it’s the parents to blame for spoilt , narcissistic kids roaming the streets with no respect for themselves or society.

We are the future, NOW. We can actually change things more than a kid who is always the 'default future'. Present day adults need to enact change!

I got my 2080ti earlier this year, bgrade and at a massively discounted price you likely wouldn't believe for the card I got. I had zero intentions of upgrading so didn't sell it before the announcement, hell I only stumbled across the live feed by accident. I certainly was not expecting these prices and claimed performance improvements etc over the previous gen.

Yes it now feels like I over paid but not by much, I have sold my card pending pick up and have not made a massive loss. I've enjoyed the card while I've had it. That said I've learned a valuable lesson about selling cards in the future. I'd have been devastated had I bought even remotely near msrp
