The only problem with the shuffle is having to drop down to playing browser/mobile games for an indeterminate amount of time. I”d rather take the hit.

TV Show seasons back to back in summer, gaming in winter, got a basic low end NV GPU (for emergencies/selling on and waiting to buy) I can use or the iGPU if I need to.
A backup card can be any card that allows you to use your pc ...if you can’t not game or turn some settings down for a few weeks then your a spoilt brat mummies boy![]()

Very happy with my current 24gb cards, they are going nowhere any time soon.
My back up card is a Titan V but I don't think it will see much use.
I wonder how many more threads will appear bashing owners of high end cards.

Sold my 2070 super in anticipation of the new cards a month ago, lost £60 which isn't bad considering I had it for almost a year![]()
It's quite funny how suddenly there is this depiction that all these 2080ti owners are now in fury with the 3000 announcements. I'm not one of them, I've had my card since launch and its had it use in that time and I never had any intention of selling it at any point. In fact I think it's great what the 3070/80 are offering. My plan was to give my 2080ti to my son to replace his 1080ti (which I also gave him), however after having a chat with him I'm going to get him a 3080 and I'll just box the 'old' cards up and get myself a 3090.
Good result for those that sold their cards to help fund their new 3000 series though.
It’s a bit different buying it launch though compared to paying over a grand a month ago or the like. It's quite funny how suddenly there is this depiction that all these 2080ti owners are now in fury with the 3000 announcements. What does that matter? Can’t a father treat his son any more?I hope he’s getting it for Christmas....and your not just buying him a £650 GFX card for no reason?
Most RTX2080 and RTX2080ti owners probably knew their cards were awful price/performance cards. If they want to waste their money that's up to them but for the rest of us its upsetting because it allowed Nvidia to see that people would pay more and shifted the stack pricing up.
For me, i use to pretty much get the Best/2nd Best New card every year for 15 years but stopped that when got a GTX970, followed by a new £350ish GTX980ti (as GTX1080 had landed). When the GTX1080ti arrived i wasent convinced enough to switch so thought would wait for RTX2080/RTX2080ti. I was utterly gutted having waited so long that when they finally arrived the RTX2080 was pretty much the same performance as GTX1080ti and the RTX2080ti was far too expensive to justify. That card (RTX2080ti) should have been the replacement at £650-700 area.
So its been a long wait for me but im looking forward to finally upgrading and probably getting reference RTX3080 (love the nvidia design) for a reasonable £650, that will offer about 4 times+ the performance of my GTX980ti. Good things come to those that wait.

That’s not for you to decide though is it?There is a fine line between educating your son about the value of money and spoiling him...
