The Eldar Scrolls V , Skyrim

No one was. It was an adult conversation which you don't seem capable of having, getting upset over differing opinions.

To try and steer conversation back to Skyrim. I'm soooo excited!!! But at the same time something has disappointed me :(

Armour is no longer Greaves & Cuirass. Its 1 item! You still get gauntlets, Boots and Helmet and shields. But The other 2 bits are now 1!! I used to like wearing some of the light armours with clothing! It looked good!

Skyrim pre-orders include a 'premium quality' map [update]

Bethesda is preparing a Skyrim pre-order bonus that will remind fans of the PC role-playing roots of the Elder Scrolls series. If you pre-order the game, you'll get ... a "feelie!" Specifically, a "premium quality world map" will be "automatically" included with your copy.

We're just going to assume that "premium quality" means "cloth." It just wouldn't be right to fully nerd out over an old-school RPG without the thrill of unfurling a limited-edition cloth map. It's getting pinned to our wall in either case, we're thoroughly ashamed to admit.

Update: Possibly in response to a certain material-obsessed blog post, Bethesda updated its own post to note that the pre-order map is "a high-grade material that has a feel similar to burlap, and will be available in North America and Europe."

Hey OP, I'm really excited for SKyrim, but this thread is a little bland. I hope you dont mind me making an official thread, with lots of info AND STARS.

loved oblivion, seen vids for skyrim.. lets just wait i cant sleep at night knowing its out pretty soon :D bow and arrows ***!

Not soon at all, over 4 months yet!

I just hope they don't have that AWFUL slowmo they introduced in Fallout (&FNV). Drove me up the wall.

Also, I am hoping that perks don't ruin it...

Basically I don't want them to copy fallout at all! I want factions, random npc quests... Not Fallout style story line quests.

I want to be able to go herb picking for 3 hours in one setting and discover more things than I would googleing where stuff is in those 3 hours. I want lots of different armors with huge stat points, I want... MAGICCCCC

Yes, I want it to be as close to a TES game as possible, if they pull it off, I will be forever greatful :)

ags

p.s. I reinstalled morrowind last weekend with all the expansions. Already put in 20 hours lol

looks great, but the horse animation is rubbish. Assassins Creed and Red Dead Redemption got it right.

We know of any collectors/limited editions of this for xbox 360 yet? Or it too early to announce this?

Some information here

Today at QuakeCon 2011 in Dallas, TX, Bethesda lifted the lid on the Collector’s Edition of the highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The CE, which will be available on PC, PS3, and 360 on the same date as the standard edition (11.11.11), will contain the following:

Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12” tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.

‘The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book: Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8” x 12 1/8” coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim. With a foreword by game director Todd Howard and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists, readers will be guided through the game’s iconic visual style.

‘The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ DVD: This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team as they take you from concept to creation and provide insights into the story, gameplay, setting, legacy of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and much more.

The Collector’s Edition will be available through pre-order and will retail for $149.99 (US), €149.99 (Europe), £129.99 (UK), and A$199.99 (Australia). So, who plans on picking this up?!?!?

That video is very good, although I've decided I don't want to watch any more Elder Scrolls footage now.

Also could a mod edit the thread title, the spelling "Eldar" is annoying me!

Loved the new footage from Quakecon. First time I've seen the map and the skills tree in action.

But how is this going to work on Xbox 360? How many discs for starters?
