** The Elder Scrolls Online - EXCLUSIVE PRE ORDER EARLY ACCESS **

I'm sorry but it sounds like the majority of you have never even played an mmo before and got into the beta expecting Skyrim 2. Then there are those of you who are outraged at an £8.99 subscription fee. I'm sorry but that's just 2 bottles of cider from the pub. Subscription fees are a normal thing that MMO’s have always done. For a lot of MMO players we prefer subscription fees because F2P always ends up being P2W (pay to win). I remember Battlefield heroes promised they'd stick to vanity items then they started selling OP guns and stuff.

Then you forget it's a beta. There are loads of games that I've absolutely hated in their beta status but then ended up loving a few months after release. I think a lot of you need to try an MMO first, then come back and try ESO. Most of you just probably don't like the genre, its like me because a massive StarCraft fan but then complaining that the StarCraft monopoly game sucks.

Any idea if another beta session is scheduled? I'm in the process of cleaning space off my Hard drive not sure if to delete Elder scrolls would like have another go on the beta only played 1 hour last time : (

I don't have a problem with subs, but I would expect the game to cost less.
£40-60 should be the range of FTP.

FUS RO DAH had not even played the beta, is a massive fanboy and the ironic thing is he is always complaining that he has no money and he has to lay off the pub :D

He is also my brother so the above is indisputable :D

Sorry mate but if OCUK say an mmo sucks in beta it nearly always sucks on release.

6m, half of which are in places like China where players buy prepaid cards that give them a number of hours to play at a netcafe. The prices are extremely low, compared to the other parts of the world, and Blizzard get only a fraction of it due to taxes/local partners.

In other words, 3m China players probably bring in less revenue than 1m European/American players. Also, expansion packs content is available on launch day without any aditional costs. Yet in reports they are all considered "active subscribers".

In April 2013, WoW made 93m total revenue (20m out of microtransactions). Remove another 10m from box purchases and you're left with 63m. However, at the time, it had more than 8m subs. If all those people paid 15 euro/$ per month, the revenue would be more than 120m. Can you see how misleading the released total number of "subscribers" is?

So yes I stand my claim that what we're seeing on WoW now is a skeleton of it's former glory.

On the basis of your argument using Chinese gamers then its never been as successful as it presents itself as there has always been Chinese gamers. Unless you can prove the 5mil leavers are exclusively Euro and US?

I must be a bit crazy coz I kind of enjoyed my time in Beta and I'm looking forward to playing this on release. But then I still enjoy SWTOR and WOW and everyone seems to hate on those these days as well :(

Not fussed at all at paying for the box + sub, in fact I'm surprised that so many seem to find this strange, I think 90% of the MMO's I've played have charged for the box + sub.

Don't get me wrong, this game has 'Will go F2P' written all over it, but I'm sure it will also sell a couple of million copies up front based on the Elder Scrolls name alone so they would be mad not to charge up front at the beginning. I just think the console crowd especially will not go for the monthly fee so after a while they will need to drop the fee and cram the game full of Microtransactions :( I personally would prefer the sub, but seems I'm a rare breed these days lol.

No doubt it will cover its costs, but it (and the devs/publishers) don't deserve it. One hoped SWTOR had woken the MMO design community up, but obviously not.

i played the beta and fell asleep after i got to lvl 3

Damn, you're hardcore! According to the survey I was sent, I didn't even get to level 3.

I really think they needed to be a tad more inquisitive with their after beta survey too. Pick 1 answer out of 10 and "k thx bye", doesn't really allow us a chance to point out ESO's fundamental problems. :D

I'm with you on that one. Free to play is never really free to play! If anything F2P games manage to extort even more money out of people that subscription games!

Agree, they always to into pay to win as opposed to pay to play. I do think the high box price coupled with the subscription is a bit of a joke though.

bla bla bla.

I donated like £25 to a server the other day because it was fun playing there.

I will however not pay £50 and a subscription fee to a game trying to cash in on the "elder scrolls" name

Would you pay 40 quid for a pile of dog ****, and then a tenner per month for the privilege of keeping said **** in your fridge?

That's basically what you will be doing by getting ESO.

Although your analogy did make me chuckle quite loudly, it really depends on what you was expecting. Are you an mmo player or was your expecting the elder scrolls 6?

What's worse, the customer support was almost non existent! Useless *****

You've done this twice now, you expect customer support to be any good during heavy load testing periods. I can't remember the other MMO you did this for.

Although as bad as they are during release periods, to whine about it now is silly.

Twice now? No only once! About the same issue as well, it took them well over the time that was needed to address my issue. You might be sucking up to them but I'll not do so!

What is it with some people running to the defense of companies that are running alphas or beta's, it's as if they can do no wrong :(

You're right, it was the same game.

But, it's a bit of an over reaction to say I'm sucking up to them and defending them, I think the game is complete cack but what was it, a days wait for a response?
It's pretty normal to not even expect help during some beta's, especially stress testing :P What was your issue?

Took a week in swtor to get a lost item back and I had already replaced it by that time :< now that's pretty crappy support.

Sorry man, bad mood today :(

Basically it was the time scale in replying, they said if they didn't get a response to their email within so many hours they would put it as fixed. However it was at least a day if not two between them replying over a simple task. The LIVE chat also said an agent would be able to talk to you within the hr. An agent appeared and asked what was wrong, I replied and two hours left and no response. Even said "hello" "anyone there?" this happened again on the next day.

I have been in many alphas/betas and customer response has been pretty swift

Oh and them asking how the customer support was, how they delt with my issue was almost instant! Guess what I wrote? :p

Out of interest what were the bad points of the beta? Was it that it was a limited beta with not a lot in or was everyone expecting skyrim 2? I didn't play it so interest to find out all the cons as I was looking forward to this from the trailers.
