The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

But the Devs dont want co op or multiplayer in TES, and most of the fans of this series dont either.

They want it to remain a pure single player RPG experience, which there isnt enough of these days with everysingle RPG being turned into a co op or MMO.

If you want to play co op, there are already loads of games that have this feature, TES doesnt need to be turned into one of them.

the fans beeing you? because loads of people in this thread said they would like to roam the world with a friend .....

The reason most SP games are poorer these days is because every developer feels they have to shoe-horn in a COOP/MULTI somewhere. That reduces time for SP development and testing. No game Producer is going to INCREASE their budget to ram some MP into the game, they simply reduce the SP coding budget.

Props to Bethesda for standing (almost) alone in retaining the integrity of their product.

I wouldn't post spoilers in here...

Though we do have spoiler tags now, so I guess it doesn't matter! :)

Like so -

OMG DRAGONS

:D

Dual wielding is so much fun, and quite a bit of strategy to it also.

Edit:
Also letting you know, Catalyst 11.11 will be posted next week
:D (fixes Skyrim apparently)

Wish AMD would hurry up with the profiles, it isn't even using my 2nd core :(

so when i get home tonight, is it just a matter of installing the game from disk, then entering a key number so Steam adds it to the library?

You are 100% correct. I wish the multiplayer kids could stick to the WoWcrap / SWTORLOL threads instead.

'ZOMG I need other people in my game to socialize! Liek Ive never heard of talking to people IRL, therefore I must be able to do it in my games! If you dont play video games online and with other people, then that makes yoo an ... an ..... Antie soshal!!!'

Ok heres a suggestion, go to the official forums:

http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/118-skyrim-general-discussion/

And feel free to make a thread / poll requesting co op in Skyrim / future TES games.

People who want co op / multiplayer in TES are usually those who are new to series and want it turning into a WoWcrap game.
or people like you who dont understand we just want a singleplayer game with a bit of online functionality some of the old ultima games were like that.
maybe your new ro rpgs though and dont know about them...

keep banging on about only people new to the tes games lol oblivion was probably your first one

i dont know wether bhavv is a fanboy or a troll he instantly shoots everyone down if they say they dont like something about the game... like the screenshots i posted earlier he decided to call my computer "shockingly bad" and "if the graphics were any better you wouldnt be able to play the game"...... like i should be greatful for the uber low res textures on the cow because if they had made an effort my computer would implode and crate a blackhole

Multiplayer in a TES game would be a logistical nightmare - it'd require tonnes more manpower to work on rebalancing the game for multiple players. While it'd be fun, sometimes I enjoy playing solo games; no need to put up with rage-quitters and generally idiotic fellow humans.

What?

The dungeons are vastly bigger than they were in Oblivion, and the game worlds are about the same size.

Been playing oblivion for the past month I just feel that game had lot more to offer.

I do like skyrim dont get me wrong I just feel like the developers have spent more time on polish than making the player feel in the game. But as for dungeons and scale, oblivion does seem a lot larger to me.

On MP note
As for multilayer if you want that go play a MMORPG one one of the other 1000s of multiplayer games that developers spent to little time on due to the budget being spread to thin.

There will undoubtedly be several expansion packs for Skyrim so it'll only get larger.

Maybe someone can mod in co-op, considering modders were doing it with just cause 2 before they cancelled it. Probably do-able tho.

Well, I'm gonna pick this up over the weekend. Tesco Entertainment will be getting their copy returned when it arrives next week :(.

noeone asked for a proper multiplayer game with pvp and stuff:P and no one is asking for balancing...

i simply said it would be nice if you could explore the world with a friend as the game is now just with that simple bit of netcode allowing someone into your game.

even rockstar started doing it oficially with the gta games and red dead redemption after the modding community already did it with vice city and san andreas

I've been playing since Morrowind came out actually, and I've always preferred single player games to co op / multiplayer.

Seriously, the majority of games that include co op / multiplayer options are so terrible these days because so much of the game has to be written and balanced around the multiplayer aspect that the single player part will always suffer.

So if you dont like the graphics in Skyrim, and you dont like the lack of co op, why do you bother playing it?

Why dont you go and play a game that you would like? Most likely something with great graphics and co op - might I suggest COD?

uld be nice if you could explore the world with a friend as the game is now just with that simple bit of netcode allowing someone into your game.

Simply put - it is nowhere near as simple as you think it would be to add co op / multiplayer to TES. The developers have already given it a lot of consideration and they have decided against it for great reasons.

The day that co op is added to TES is the day that the series dies.

i dont know wether bhavv is a fanboy

OMG you think I'm a fanboy of the greatest single player RPG series ever made? If spotting the obvious was a talent, you would surely be the best person in the world at it

Somehow I dont understand how you feel that calling someone a fanboy of TES is a valid argument, especially when that person has already stated several times that he is framing his world map for the game

Just had this email from simplydouche

Skyrim – Delayed Deliveries

Following feedback from many customers regarding non-delivery of Skyrim today, we have fully investigated the situation with Royal Mail. Unfortunately, we’ve now learned that our local sorting office failed to deliver some of our sacks to the main distribution hub on Wednesday evening. This has effected many orders – mainly for Skyrim on PC

Royal Mail have confirmed that the delayed sacks were then taken to the distribution centre the following day (Thursday) and therefore the affected orders are now on route for delivery and should be with you very soon.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this delay. Simply Games has an excellent reputation for getting new releases to customers by release date and we are very sorry if this delay has effected your order.

Once again, please accept our sincerest apologies for this delay and any inconvenience caused. We assure you that your order will be with you very soon if it hasn’t already arrived.

Kindest Regards
