The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

AOS2 myself and love it, though I have no idea on your particular compatability as I dont use CoT. Also using the horse mod one which stops the sound drop out on horseback in vanilla and gives different sounds for different surfaces:

Thanks for that, was pretty bad how the horse sounds just stop and start again.

I think we need a new skyrim game its about time.

I'm only just getting into this one lol

Same here, I have like 40+ hours in Skyrim and half of that is testing the game to make sure its stable when modding!

Well I believe iirc I'm over 900 hours now, but tbh aside from completing the game on release the rest of my hours have mainly been testing mods in search for that perfect build and play through. I've seriously lost count of the numerous restarts. But I am pretty much there now and reckon I'll go for a long time now with my current Imperial character.

That's why for me, whilst I've played loads, I still feel like the best is yet to come. Amazing game, albeit because of the mods.

I disagree, whilst I think mods enhance and expand the game, I think bethesda started with an awesome game. Yep I now spend a lot of time trying and testing mods.
Care to share what your mod collection is? :)

I've just been through my Skyrim mods in NMM and have updated many of them to the latest versions, versions such as Alternative start was 2.05 is now 3.05 or something.

Funny thing is though they didn't show up as a warning, a new version is available. I just checked them manually in the Nexus!

Oh well, tis all good now :)

I'll simply say this. When you've put in 900 hours, be honest with yourself and then tell me if you would have played so long without mods. Thats my point, not that the vanilla game isnt great. ;)

And no I dont care to share the complete list. :p

But I do try and give mod suggestions and help where I can. :)

I've played 4700 hours and I think I would have stopped at 1000 if it was'nt for mods.

That's a fair point. I was about to chip in and say that the Vanilla was a fantastic game, but you are right, not sure I would have gone over 300 hours without coming back for a 2nd and 3rd go and modding it.

There is still a lot too the game and each playthrough has been different, but modding does add that extra edge and at least another 100 hours :D

You probably would spend longer on vanilla if there weren't as many other great games out there, but modding gives all Bethesda RPG's their longetivity. I shudder to think about my FO3 hours....

Yeah and that is just fantastic. When I finally finish my current play through, I'm viewing it as just setting the game to how I want it for the future. Which is why as mentioned before, for me at 900 hours I feel as though I'm still at the beginning in many ways. Hundreds of hours of future play throughs to look forward to. Great stuff.

yes I'm just setting my game up for my next playthrough, waiting for Legacy of the Dragonborn to get a big update on the 19th,needs to start with a new game.bit of a pain when that happens but what do you do,start a new game or miss a good mod

As great as vanilla is, I think that as soon as you're delving into ini's to adjust the FOV or some minor but noticeable tweak you're already moving away from vanilla to refine the experience. But at the same time if you look at the sheer volume of content and sense of scale put into this game at launch and its quite bewildering when you stop and think for a moment.

Unfortunately with vanilla and its little annoyances in ui and hotkeys same old looks etc etc. Without mods I have tbh I would be burnt out on it at this moment in time. Would likely still return to it, but simply would not be playing it to the extent I currently am. Mods refine and refresh the experience. Even so once I max my current character I will be taking a break. :)

I'm having trouble with racemenu.

It won't allow me to change my breast size for my character, the sider does nothing. It's also missing now after uninstalling/reinstalling it and XP32.

I have XP32MSE installed, FINS installed, CBBE installed and HDT plus HDT TBP/BBP installed and Racemenu installed all though MO.

I don't understand it, in my first attempts of modding Skyrim, I didn't have this problem but with these new updated versions, it's just not working. :/

Well, I totally lost my moral with this not working and I can't even get HDT to work too which is likely being caused by the same thing.

I wish mod makers would put more effort into their instructions and guides.

Wish I could help, but I haven't dabbled with the mods you mention (apart from CBBE and in the past XP32). Tbh I've tried to avoid using anything which pushes me towards racemenu as I read a few bits and bobs which implied that there are certain ctd scenarios which can come of using it. I know its popular and I'm not saying dont use it, its just I choose not to. :)

Also I personally don't use Mod Manager either for managing my mods. Sorry.

I roll with CBBE and Mature Skin, Better Males, Superior Lore Friendly Hair, Beards, Teeth Plus and Teeth Plus Redone for a base and then just add whatever armour mods etc on top.

On a positive note, I've been using an excellent dog mod which gives all the dogs a more unique and better appearance:

I've also found a superb horse re-texture, which I'll post up once tested a bit more but its way superior to anything else I've tried to date.
