The Emirates FA Cup 5th Round Proper ** Spoilers ** [9th - 11th Feb 2021]

Yeah, he’s very disappointing. Not sure where the great looking player at Ajax has gone. Ole coaching at its finest?

VDB is a perfect City player. Quick one touch high work rate. I said it before but it is like he is playing chess when everyone else is playing backgammon.

It is still hard to judge him because he just doesn't get a run in the team. Look at Fred. He benefitted massively when Pogba and Matic were injured. Hopefully Europa League will give him that chance.

He looked good on his debut too from what I remember. He scored a cracker albeit as a consolation.

He’s not looked good since though. Always seems to be stood on the edge of the box in the centre with back to goal and rarely gets involved.

As you say. Not sure if it’s just team fit or Ole impact.

Ajax play a very team oriented style of football where everyone has a role and patterns of movement and play that they know and understand. They know that when player X has the ball in area Y he will look to do Z. They know that they will have options in known locations when they are on the ball and that players will be making certain runs. United are the complete opposite. We largely make it up as we go along. We get the ball and then look up to see whats on and who is available. Thats why Bruno and Pogba are so important. They make those killer passes and give our play some meaning and direction.

I actually agree a bit with JJ, his team mates just don’t look for him, and I agree with all the posts above!

Wow, what a clearance AWB...! :D

I really dread to think how slow Harry Maguire will be when he hits 30+

People are so quick to judge players. Hes barely played and coming to a league that is far superior.

Good strike AWB.

I don't think many of us are judging him as a player, he just doesn't fit into our "system" or complete lack thereof. He would be fine at a team like City where they play a lot of one touch passes and are a tactically well drilled outfit.

I'm sure he would adapt with a run in the team and be alright but hes not the sort of player that would thrive under Ole.

Also, does anyone else shout at the TV "don't shoot" whenever Fred gets the ball at the edge of the box.
