Under the current rules it was.

I don't think a players fingertips being hit when he's falling back down in a jump when, for part of the jump, the ball is behind his head and he can't see the damned thing is a penalty no.

That's hardly the same as sticking your arm out to block it.

I wasn't talking about tackling. This was a mid air incident.

Edit: But yeah, you're right there is no answer. It's difficult to have very clear definitions. Although we could just keep it at 'if it hits your hand for any reason it's a pen' - it's not fair but it is clear I guess
