So tonight I sold my PC and gone to a laptop, gone as the days of gaming and sitting at my desk, feels good in some respecs but sad in some.

Anyone else done the same ?

I still have my desktop, but I’ve gone from sitting at a desk playing games on it to lounging on a sofa playing PS4. I’m not a pauper by any means but I much prefer to just pay my £400 for a console and be done with it for five years or so.

Confused. You gave up a fixed desktop PC for a portable laptop PC? Aren't there dedicated gaming laptops now? I have multiple desktop and laptop PCs but only ever use my tablet when browsing away from my home office.

game on your laptop, they are more than powerful enough these days, as well as plenty of great games that don't need huge power.

I didn't feel that way 6 or so years ago was totally bored of gaming thought games where going backwards. After a while of found awesome smaller games ksp and rimworld the two I've sunk the most time into. Much different to the cod and the like I was into before.

I'm done with gaming to be honest, all I used to play out of my 200 games on steam were black ops custom zombies and ballons tower defence.

I spend 99% of my computer time on a chromebook. I stopped gaming completely for over a year, only turning my gaming computer on for windows updates etc.
Just started gaming again, but only occasionally.

I did, 4 years ago when we had our second child and i had to give up my office. Really tried to get on with laptop gaming but it didnt click for me. Now (and until we move) ive a decent sff hooked up to the lounge 4k tv and i game on the sofa with a roccat sova, works a treat.

I went from a PC to a PC too. They're both PCs y'know. Just I went from a desktop to a laptop :p

I'm still a gamer though at nearly 40. The laptop is game-able at 16GB RAM, an i7-4720HQ and a GTX 960M 4GG dedicated, running off a 500GB EVO 850 :-)

The laptop I got is not good enough for gaming I'm afraid :)

The desk has been taken apart and the chair and desk will be put outside tomorrow for someone to take away for nothing :)

A decade ago when I retired my windows PC and got a mac, although powerful enough to run the latest game through bootcamp I just game on consoles.

If you aren't gaming or doing anything remotely demanding that would require a powerful desktop then there's no point having a desktop at all. It's just a big tower that needs a desk, keyboard, monitor etc that can't be packed away down the side of the sofa.

If you want to game in the living room on a PC then how about a nice ITX case that won't look out of place and play in big picture mode with a wireless Xbox controller and a wireless keyboard for games that need them. You can still put them away in a drawer when your gaming is over.

I played like this for 3 years until I moved house and got ab extra room for my PC. I found that with my phone and tablet that things like surfing the web, YouTube, emails could all be handled without the PC and the PC was exclusively for gaming
