Every socialist I know has donated money, goods or time to the refugee criss. amigafan2003 has certainly has!

What have you done to help the situation?

I'm one of the people who doesn't want to bring all the economic migrants in. So naturally, I haven't donated and won't be doing so ;)

Let Cameron spend the foreign aid budget on improving the refugee camps in Turkey. Great idea. Foreign aid budget is mostly wasted anyhow (60% of it goes directly to foreign governments. You know, like the fine upstanding African governments who wouldn't "lose" some of that money to buy a fleet of Bentleys, oh no... Or to the Indian government, who have their own space programme.)

But if you don't want them coming over here, surely it's in your best interests to give money to charities helping them in the border countries?

You're aware that our foreign aid to India is stopping, right?

Some 40,000 migrants could arrive in Germany over the next two days

Reports suggest the government is considering new temporary powers to take control of unoccupied rental property to accommodate migrants.

And on Saturday, some commentators in mainstream papers are questioning whether Mrs Merkel's promise that Germany is able to shelter an unlimited number of migrants is really true.

Still a couple million migrants in Turkey, so a few more to come yet. Come on Germany, you can do it ;) I eagerly await news from the multiculturial utopia to come.

Will they be paying rent to the legal owners of these properties, or is the German State getting all 1938 again and just grabbing whatever property they like the look of?

tax increase for people who want the UK to house the worlds poor, directly proportional to how many the UK lets in.

I'm not sure how the books would balance, but i like the idea of 1% per 100,000?

see if people really want them here that badly.

It's not smart to accept a label such as that from your opposition. By accepting such a label he alienates himself from people who might otherwise listen. It's a massive own-goal, and gives fuel to his opponents.

Suffice to say that you/I/we aren't fans of a foreign cultural, religious and political system which is opposed to western culture and values, which seeks to spread itself by violent and non-violent means alike, and which represents a return to medieval standards of life for most of its practitioners. That's without delving into its horrific treatment of women, other religions, and basically anybody who doesn't share its core beliefs.

Wonder what I'm talking about? :p

But no, don't call yourself racist. It's foolish in the extreme.

Its a shame the fashion is currently pro migration with what seems to be no real thought to the consequences.
As said, at the minute you can't really say 'keep them out' without being labeled
Germany is the experiment, and the fashion seems to already be changing. And fashions change quickly. As more and more anti immigration sentiments come out it will be more accepted. Well it be too late for Germany by then?

It looks more and more like the German anti immigration public are getting more vocal

It would be ideal to be informed how much more tax would be needed to be paid for every 10k immigrants. With a choice for the pro immigration crew to put their money where thier mouth is.
It's crazy but I'm sure half these people will just say tax the rich rather than cough up themselves

If they are willing to travel through several safe and modern countries to get here for a long term future, a better temporary location in the border countries is not going to stop or solve the issue. Equally the aid budget is for sustaining those countries, which is why I pay my taxes and how I contribute to my own and their society.

To avoid them here in an unregulated open door policy, requires application of the law (one that is already in place, one where we have already accepted millions of refugees through the years) nothing else.

Worrying about seizing rental houses and the use of troops. Not sure why you would want to use troops with rubber bullets etc to help process presumably happy, calm and grateful refugees. Germany clearly has not thought through the ramifications of their actions, legally in regard to the EU or themselves
