Soooooooooo who's playing it?
:)

I loved the first game. Finished it 3 times you know.
Including once about 2 weeks ago, in preparation for number 2.

But there's something..... 'off' about the new one.
Sure it's not as scary, and none of the mind games stuff is new. I dunno...... it's hard to pin down.
It might also be the new controls (and engine too? Is it a new engine?), Sebastian feels both floaty and sluggish at the same time. It's hard to describe.

Still.... now the negatives are out of the way, I will still say I'm having a blast, creeping around and trying not to get eaten. The enemies have certainly upped their game too. They are very twitchy. Makes sneaking up on them and getting leg/head shots MUCH harder.

How are YOU all finding it?

Odd why no one cares about this game in here. Big thread in pc section. I've got it for ps4 but yet to open it.

Really enjoying it, just got to chapter 5. Put 5 and a half hours already from exploring.

Finding it a lot better than the first and you're right the enemies are very twitchy and unpredictable. Can swarm you if you make to much noise or they spot you.

Have to agree, controls are fine it's the camera that's the problem. I've adjusted the sensitivity but it's still not fast enough. Still that aside, such a good game, reminds me so much of Biohazard which is a good thing.

I’ve noticed a big drop in activity in the console forum. Unless you’re playing FIFA or Destiny, there’s nothing to talk about. :p

I wonder if the bush camera angles are on purpose?
After all, if you were hiding in bushes thick enough to conceal yourself, you probably wouldn't be able to see much either. :D

Uk retail sales are looking abysmal too. Most adults have moved on to pc gaming. If you are above 18 and still game on consoles you're seriously doing it wrong.

Well as long as Sony Interactive Entertainment keep churning out great exclusives, I’ll always have a PlayStation. :p

Damn, I guess all those years of PS4 enjoyment I had were wrong.
I wouldn't have wasted my time if I knew. Where were you when I needed you, NZXT30? :P

(seriously tho, the whole 'which is better for gaming' is an old argument for another time and another thread :) )

I would suggest a lot of working adults don't want to be crouched over a desk when they get home from work and would prefer to relax on a couch and enjoy some gaming on a big TV.

This is mainly a PC Forums so any talk in the console section is plus...

I would say it has been quieter around here lately though, I haven't been as active lately simply because most threads turn into a troll fest.

Anyway, back on topic.

I have this and the original evil within but never got around to playing the first one.

Do I need to play the first before playing this or can I just jump into this one (which is what I'm hoping) ?

You can jump straight into number 2.
There's some callbacks and chat about what happened in number 1, but nothing too heavy.

In a nutshell, the protagonist went through something similar before in a mental hospital called Beacon. That's about it :)

I didn't buy this at launch but I did the first game. I am a big fan of Shinji Mikami and loved it, even though there were glitches and frame drops and the first enemy killed me about 15 times before I got to the next section. I ended up selling it after I completed it but then purchased it for about £7 about a year or 2 ago... And played it through again. Think there has been very little Mikami involvement with this but it has the same influence. Most of the reviews state the same as the OP something slightly odd with the more open world and less nasty grime that was so prevalent in the first game. I was going to buy this at launch but I bought Horizon Zero Dawn instead and saved about £15.... And I hope that TEW2 will be down to that in the future..

How well does it run on PS4 the first game was great but frame drops was annoying.

lol didn't know PC's came with a age rating....
