The ex, identity theft and fraud.

Glad I could have been a part of this and hope you (Leon) and your kids have a great time welcoming in the new year. Your kids couldn't ask for a better father. My little one is only 15 months, but I look forward to being able to follow your example of dedication and selflessness and showing him there is good in the world.

Enjoy the gifts and remember - you've earned them :)

Hitman_Leon, as a father myself who's split up with his ex. I can appreciate how hard it's been on you. I'm lucky, as my ex and I still get on and we both work hard to ensure my daughter is happy healthy and a little bit spoilt :)

But to read of your determination and resolve through everything you've been through, which lets be honest would have broken many a person here. It's truly humbling.

I hope you and your family have the most amazing Christmas this year, and I think the thought of all those smiles on Christmas day is more than enough thanks for any of us here who have contributed.

Wishing your family light, love and happiness, and a Merry Christmas.

Only just caught up properly with this thread. All I can say is wow. Leon is one of the greatest people I've ever read about. I can't think of anything better than improving the lives of his children the way he has.

And huge props to the OCUK family. I don't think I've ever been on a forum that pulls together and tries to help one if it's members as much as you all have. Outstanding work.

I hope Leon has the time to post some updates and pictures after Christmas.

I haven't even had the chance to read the entirety of this thread, but bloody hell, well done Leon, family and all the guys and girls at OcUK.

Reading the generosity and comments from you guys in here has genuinely been a heart warning and tear jerking experience. It is great to witness there are still some good people in a world that can be so, so awful at times.

All the best and Merry Christmas to each and every one of you, particularly Leon and his family.

The deadline of the donations to me were at 12PM today (I am sure Leon is happy to take donations personally :)).

Someone very generous donated £500, he is a member of this forum, I will not mention his name as he has not said that it is okay.

I will tally up the full amount donated over the weekend. Will let -VK- know so he can round it up. :)

Thank you everyone who has made this all possible.

Only just had the chance to read pages 3-25 of this thread. I started a while ago, before it hit facebook or twitter in fact, and then assignments took over my life!

All I can say is wow. Leon you are an inspiration to all of us. Sounds properly cheesy but it's true. The way you have handled yourself throughout is absolutely incredible. You've remained calm, kept your dignity and generally done everything you could have done for the sake of your family, and most importantly of all, it's come good!!

You have no worries about parenting, from everything you've said here you are the best father any child could want. I have a friend who has muscular dystrophy (or something similar, needs to wear splints to walk) and appreciate how hard basic things can be. Having said that, with our explorer scout group at easter, she hiked 15km across dartmoor over 3 days, 10 of those on one day! I guess the point is the condition doesn't prevent you from being great.

I hope that the donations collected here give the kids the best possible Christmas they could imagine, and of course that you find time to treat yourself and enjoy it, even though by the sounds of you, the greatest possible pleasure will be seeing them happy. Fortunately the kind gifts of parts mean that you will be forced to have a present for yourself!!

This just goes to show that whatever people think, the community spirit is well and truly alive, along with the Christmas spirit, in the hearts and minds of this forum at least!

Merry Christmas mate, you deserve it.

Bloody hell way to make the rest of us look bad! :p

Yeah you ungenerous bunch! Jeez only raised over £2500 when I last counted! ;)

In all seriousness the amount raised is way more than I thought it would be, I was happy with the £500 that we raised at the start, didn't think it would end up being like this! :)

Outstanding work 5UB. I wouldn't have thought the initial 'surprise' trust msg you sent would end like this for Leon and his kids.

As for the member who overflowed the pot with 500 smackers, great stuff.

Just wow!!

Like other, I just caught up with this thread before leaving the office after a stressful week (by my stds at least). What a humbling read - genuinely tears rolling down my face. Very proud to be a member here.

As a father of 5, I can honestly say, Leon, you have no worries about your quality as a parent. From the bottom of my heart I wish you and your kids a fantastic Christmas and New Year, and more importantly a safe and loving future. Best wishes to you all.

Well that escalated quickly! This is truly fantastic, absolutely outstanding. The generosity of anyone and everyone who donated (whether it be money, pc parts, good old advice or even a remote control heater :p) is superb and you should be proud. We should all be proud, as a community, a big ol' loving family. :)

Merry Christmas. :D
