The FA CUP Fifth Round ** Spoilers ** [14th - 16th February 2015]

Here's a question, and it's one that I'm honestly undecided about. If somebody throws themself at your feet, do you have a duty to try to avoid them? The keeper has launched himself in there. If Rooney had left a leg in, would it have been more of a foul?

I don't think you have to avoid them but if you do any you then throw yourself to the floor its a dirty dive. If he had been clipped its fair play.

Sorry, my mistake, he had to dive out of the way. Thus not a dive. I would argue but Keown has spoken.

Bearing in mind he was running, I'm not sure how else you'd avoid it, especially when a penalty is on offer.

Will take the win.

To be honest I'd be disappointed if a Liverpool player didn't try and get the contact there and fall over, its stupid from the keeper and going to impede his run in some shape or form.

That's my thoughts too. The keeper has effectively given Rooney the option to go down or not there, and in my opinion he shouldn't have to kick the keeper to get the penalty. If a player launches himself at your feet and totally misses the ball they've impeded you, regardless of whether or not you get out of your way.
