The FA Cup Final Thread

Just got back from Cardiff!!! Hurrah! :D

A few thing from reading this:

Highbury has a 7 year waiting list for season tickets, to get on the ticket scheme 2-3 years. Around 5 games on general sale with perhaps 1000 tickets on sale.

Timewasting. WTF! I remember Everton v Southampton, southampton were 1-0 up, then 1-1. Won a corner tried to timewaste, and Radlinksi scored (screamer) So EVERY team does it!

I was in the Southampton end :eek: That bloody song 'yellow'!! Not a bad day, just felt hollow.:rolleyes:
 
The only real difference being there is the atomsphere. + you don't get to see everything, ie I didn't see the Henry pen + sending off as that. Likewise I thought the dive was a pen.
No replays just make your mind up on the first viewing. Oh and you get wet walking to the ground, and get to eat burgers! and annoyed by ***** going to the toilet after 5 minutes!

I wouldn't really worry about it. It's not really worth it! There are loads of people out there who are real who don't go to games. My sister's boyfriend is a real Utd fan, but doesn't go.
 
Right, i have just read this entire thread edited a few bits & may delete the entire thing if the Arsenal fans don't stop bickering amongst themselves, so please stop.

That said, from what I saw of the game the Saints deserved to win. However I only saw the final 6 mins where the corner flag was visited closely :rolleyes:

I must say I hate it when teams do that as well, especially teams of Arsenal/ Man U/ Real's class, they don't need to & it cheapens the game & really deflates the entire thing. (also by the stats it looks like the Saints were the most attacking, most corners & most shots etc)

But congrats to Arsenal, a scrappy goal but you got to the Final deservedly & were able to hold out & win the game so insert a clapping smilie.....here :p

Gooner14, I must add that despite being new to the forum you seem like the sanest most common sense kinda guy who supports Arsenal around here. Congrats to you as well ;) (though you should try weening yourself off of Arsenal eh :p)

even more than me :p j/k yeah he is good addition to the ocuk forums, we were abit short of gooners around here as well :p
 
From what I saw, Arsenal definitely deserved to win .. well done Arsenal ;)

Henry deserves praise for not going down after 20 seconds for a pen when he would have been within his rights to do so.. I wonder if RvN would have done the same thing there :) The Southampton player (Lundekvam?) said afterwards he was grateful as he would have been sent off had Henry gone down and the letter of the law been applied.

Also as for Arsenal running the ball into the corner etc at the end - I've seen Man Utd and other teams do it, and it's better to do that than lose possession and have the other team score, which Southampton nearly did in the final seconds :eek: Southampton did their best but there was an obvious difference in class, even with some of Arsenal's best players out.

Nah seriously, it's quite amazing the difference between what I felt last year to this. Last year was the greatest feeling (better than 98) considering we hadn't done the double by then still had the Utd game. This year was great to win etc, just something missing.

About the stuff last nite, I never meant to offend, if I did sorry You didn't. I truly see no difference in watching a game on TV or at the stadium. It doesn't make you better in any way.

There's only one kinda fan I dislike, and those are the people who change club 'cause their old club ain't doing well! Make no sense to me!

A club is for life, not just one season!

If we are to continue this thread, how about we discuss the most impressive game of the cup, best goal or fav. memory?

well just got back from spending the weekend away got to sya it was rather a good game, Southampton played there socks off and i must commend them on an excellent and unfortunate performance.

Arsenal also played well and for 10-20 mins in the game were breathtakin, fair result overall, although arsenal for me spoiled what was a grest FA Cup final by there timewasting at the end. But like a few in here will im sure have said everyteam does it.


So Well done Arsenal, Unlucky Southhampton and we shall see you all again next year.
