The FA CUP Semi-Finals 13/14 April *** Spoilers ***

:D

They're lucky Spurs are going through their own implosion because looking at Chelsea's upcoming fixtures I don't see many wins in their near future...

Who's suggested anything?

It was though a hideous potentially career ending dirty vile cowardly lunge though.
Not people on here just the media etc.

Also yes it was an awful challenge from Aguero and he probably deserves a ban, will be interesting to see if he gets one. FA took no action on the McMannaman lunge on Haidara and there were two awful two footed tackles on Monday that went unpunished. Wouldn't be surprised if nothing happens.

It wasn't a challenge, it was an attack made to cause harm to the player. The ball wasn't in the direction his feet were going.

Deserves a hefty ban, absolutely no place for acts like this.

As you said though, I've never seen anything but professionalism from Aguero since he arrived, been a big fan of him, but this is a nasty stain.

As Ship is saying, the Wigan guy on Hadaira, that was a badly timed, stupid tackle, it was a mistake, Aguero did not mistime a tackle, he didn't slip and hit a guy by accident, his intent and his action was to stamp on a player. An INTENTIONAL assault and bad contact with no intention are utterly incomparable.

Aguero has done one of the nastiest things I've seen in football in quite some time there.... He's gotten incredibly lucky(because of the retarded way people get punished) to not have seriously injured Luiz, and Luiz is seriously seriously lucky that he was moving in the same direction as Aguero and that wasn't a stamp right onto a leg or head.

Honestly I think for that even 5 games wouldn't be remotely close to enough.

I think back to Cantona assaulting the fan and getting 9 month ban. What's the difference here?

Just seen the 'challenge' from Aguero, absolutely horrendous, dirty ****.

How the ref hasn't seen that is ridiculous.

Not a lot to say after that. A great shame we didn’t turn up to the game until the second half (nothing new there) and it didn’t feel as though there was a proper referee on the pitch. Don’t talk to me about giving penalties or Aguero. On the bright side a building experience for our inexperienced players and only another 9/10 games to go.

Aguero's stamp was naughty, doesn't deserve to be called a tackle or challenge because it wasn't.

But 'potentially career ending'? Just, no.

Just a reminder of Chelsea's fails this season....

Community Shield - Lost 3-2 to Man City
Uefa Super Cup - Lost 4-1 to Atletico Madrid
Uefa Champions League - Knocked out at group stage
Club World Cup - Lost 1-0 to Corinthians
Carling Cup - Lost 2-0 to Swansea in the Semi Finals
FA Cup - Lost 2-1 to Man City in the Semi Final

Odds on them being knocked out of the Europa league by Basel and finishing 5th? :D

Ill take any odds on that:p.

signing Hazard for 30 million isn't classed as a fail?

;):p

LOL:D.

Nasty challenge by Aguero on Luiz, should really get a retrospective ban for that at least a few games....you can see from the GIF that he went in 2 footed :/

Not an awful lot, this whole "its a player, they put themselves there" argument, players are at risk of bad tackles, that doesn't mean its okay to assault someone else on the pitch. Barton got a 3 match ban for a pretty minor punch on Pederson, I can't see how this isn't much much much worse.

While it was during a tackle, it wasn't part of the tackle, nor was the foul given for the stamp so I hope the FA don't ignore it saying the ref gave the foul for the tackle. He gave the foul for the supposed barge as Luiz was falling as opposed to what happened right afterwards. If they decide the entire incident was punished by the foul and the FA do nothing, well, complete joke basically.

I honestly think 5 games is too little and it should be at least a 10 game ban. Luiz has quite rightly said in the press that he expects an apology, its one of the worst tackles he's seen but that everyone does mental things in 5 seconds of madness, that is human nature, he doesn't think Aguero is nasty or can remember anything bad he's done so forgives him on that score.

I feel the same, people do like to pretend humans aren't that emotional and are fully in control, and insist anything people do is a sign of who they really are(ie if someone says something racist in anger, once in their entire lives, somehow its proof they are racist), humans react to anger, and other emotions, thats life. I have no issue with Aguero, I don't think he's dirty or a nasty player.

Purdy doesn't like it when I point out an ex liverpool player is a nasty piece of work. What Torres did, while massively less severe, is something he does repeatedly, its a tactic, kick a guys achilles, bruise it, hurt the player, gain an advantage. Torres is a nasty piece of work who does small but nasty things consistently, Torres I have no patience for, Aguero I have no problem with. Torres kicks out at people by choice, Aguero just lost control, once.

I haven't seen Torres do anything melicious really, an ankle tap on the achilles is no worse then what he will get week in week out...

David Luiz is one of, if not the dirtiest player in the league and I never see him apologise.

Absolutely ridiculous from the FA. How on earth can they not come to the conclusion that Aguero intently jumped two footed on David Luis without any attempt to play the ball?!

If Aguero had planted on Luis' leg, he would have caused a serious injury.
