The FA CUP Semi-Finals 14/15 April *** Spoilers ***

He was 1on1 with the keeper if that isn't a goal scoring chance what is? When the ball in on the line and knocks it in playground style

I see what you are saying, but if you say to Cech "you denied a goalscoring opportunity", he would say "but they scored"

It is tricky.

Bottom line imo, ref has to send Cech off, though I would personally prefer a yellow to be shown

It was a goalscoring opportunity but once the advantage had been played then the ref couldn't send him off.

If I was a Spud I'd have wanted Bale to leave it and take the pen & red card.

Not really there's a good chance a pen will be missed. Being down to 10 men is not such a big deal at 2-0 up, you just sit back and defend.

The laws state the if you play the advantage then you can't send the player off. Then again the laws also state that the ball must cross the line for a goal to be given.

Really? Because I remember a VERY similar situation in Europe a few years back with the goal keeper being sent off in a similar fashion, that doesn't stand up for me.

I agree on the second. Anyone following the BBC minute by minute? Someone said the Spurs team should have just walked off :D
