The FA CUP Sixth Round - 9/10 March *** Spoilers ***

While that's true Chelsea looked better going forward throughout the entire match.

When they went ahead and we were chasing the game maybe, before that though I felt we were in complete control. I said before the game though we handed the tie to Chelsea by not playing either Rooney or RVP

Complete control? Hardly we had some fleeting moments of good passing but we never created anything of note. Until chicos header. Due gea made a save or two in the first and cech only one.

I thought we were poor. Too low tempo. No width on either flank. No delivery. Bad all round.

They did indeed.

Rafael being injured was a big part of this for Utd plus the likes of Young, Nani and Valencia being woefully out of form (not even sure why Young came on but hey ho)

Rooney and Evans not being available at all also put a dampener on the game from the off for me.

Seems like we're ending this season as badly as we did the last one, so much for us getting stronger as the season goes on. Only hope our lead is enough at this point!

Has to be said we're not playing like a team who has the confidence of a 15 point lead in the league, the 02/03 and 07/08 campaigns especially come this time of the season we brushing teams off for fun yet atm every game seems to be a real slog (I assume thats a word?)

The performances are probably due to the same problem we've had all season; our creative players are having a mare of a season - Young, Nani and Valencia have all been too poor for too long but because RVP was scoring out of nothing before this was papered over, now he isn't though it's more of a problem

Only thing to play for now is to beat Jose's 95 point finish which could actually happen given the way we're grinding out wins and that itself would still be a massive achievement

Lol fergie said he couldn't see us scoring. Bad thing question is can he fix it? We looked bereft in the last game too despite cantering to a win.

Why is he surprised at this?

He picked Welbeck to play, what was he expecting? us to put on some kind of attacking master class with Welbeck feeding off all those pin point crosses from Cleverley on the left, and the attacking talents of Carrick and Jones?

Welbeck has been sensational so far..... Nani on the other hand must have a 0% pass completion :o

Final numbers below:
Nani bottom of #MUFC passing stats, successfully completing only 27 passes - that's 64.3% accuracy

Barcelona may not be on the blower just yet then.

I haven't seen the game but 64.3% is hardly a terrible pass rate for a winger, it also doesn't take into account difficulty or anything. Valencia probably gets a higher rate....but that's because he's scared of defenders and just passes it short to Rafael who has to do all the work.

Valencia & Michael Jackson were bobbins today, Valencia is not having the best of seasons is he, something he has admitted too. MJ is a given..a total waste. Freekick (hit wall), corner kick (straight to first man)...he couldn't pass to a player even if his team mate was stood next to him. He needs to moonwalk right out the exit door.

I didn't think Valencia did bad today in fact his best performances this season have actually been when he's been at RB.

Poor game yet again from United. RVP being off-form means that we're essentially the same team as last year, but on top of that all three of our wingers have had a dreadful season. In truth, we haven't really ever replaced Ronaldo since he left and still miss his creativity and ability to fashion chances out of nothing. We've been far, far too reliant on Rooney, RVP and Hernandez to score our goals this season, and Rooney and RVP have also had a lot of assists. Midfield was the key last off-season and needs to be again this summer, it's still such a massive weakness for United.

That'll do nicely, yet another day out at our 2nd home coming up
Not the best of games quality wise but it was a cracking atmosphere and Ba's strike plus Cech's save were worthy of winning any game.
It was a bit disappointing not being able to finish the game off as we had enough chances but managing to keep a clean sheet made up for that.
Mata looked very jaded today I thought he obviously hadn't fully recovered from that virus and losing Cole for a couple of weeks isn't good :(
It's not going to help our fixture congestion much with the Spuds game having to be moved now, worth it though :)
