The Faster Disk?

Hi,

Currently Steam is on my Samsung F3 (7200rpm 1TB Drive) (brand new)

i also have a WD Raptor 300GB Spare (2 years old)

what im wondering is if it would be a good idea to put Orgin (BF3) on the Steam drive or the Raptor for best speed?

I would say the raptor would be a bit quicker than the F3.

I would say the F3 is quicker than the Raptor.

Are the F3 and the caviar black still the fastest 1TB+ drives out there? They've both a couple of years old now so this surprises me. Guess all the focus has shifted to SSD now?

Pretty much.

7,200-RPM terabytes from Hitachi, Samsung, Seagate, and WD face off

All the drives in that test are still in production.

Yeah I saw that link thanks but couldn't believe there's been nothing new. I see there's the new hitachi about to hit these shores any day now so that might be worth a look.
