I love the new 500, think it's a great looking car. Short of exotica, I think it's the only brand new car I would consider buying if I was in a position to be buying new. The 1.4 turbo Abarth version sounds sweet, and I also seem to remember reading on PH (or somewhere similar) that Fiat have plans for a 10,000rpm 2 cylinder screamer of an engine in the works - that would be a hoot!

I'll be flabbergasted if it revs to 10, but a 2 banger turbo is on the way.
Well, with the MultiAir valve actuation and timing control it could be possible. I don't think they will have it running those kind of engine speeds in production examples, but they might have a factory car running around with that kind of rev limit just for the hell of it

If its anything like previous small FIAT engines 8 will be easily possible. this revs to about 8500.
