My grandfather was the chief photographer for a Scottish newspaper (http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/aberdeen/duncan-dingsdale-1.302731). Gagarin did a bit of a tour of the UK after the flight and my grandfather covered his visit to Edinburgh - the 2 became friends, went out drinking a few times and he gave my grandad one of the broaches (they took a few with them, 4 or 5 I think). He left it for me when he died and I've still got it, am looking at framing it with the article (if I can ever get hold of it) and pictures of the 2 of them together
