US: The Following

I've actually been enjoying it, apart from the odd bit of complete stupidity (read: standing directly in front of a door and assuming that none of the cops/FBI are actually in on it!) but this:
They've already renewed it for season 2 :/

has ruined it for me!

This show is tailor made for a single story arc that has a definitive ending instead of dragging it out because it's getting the ratings and watering down the product ala; Lost! :(

They're already dragging the story out just with this one season tbh, anyone know how many episodes there is in season 1? I think we're up to about episode 10 or 11 ain't we?

I tried so hard to like this series, i liked the concept and James Purefoy is an amazing actor. But the plot is absolutely ****ing ridiculous, I stopped watching part way through episode 10 where she got in the car. So many far fetched stories and plot holes that i just couldn't take it any more.

you have to take it with a pinch of salt. its tv drama and american at that. tbh not that much else around this season

Ignore the implausibility. I find it quite compulsive viewing!

Nice mix of characters, coherent story, every episode progresses and answers questions, very little to no filler guff etc.

Yes it won't win any awards for writing, but it is doing OK in the ratings from what I recall.

I'm with you, I also find it strangely compelling despite it's flaws.

So which FBI agent of pointlessness, did not read the memo about not turning your back on the crazy person, cuz they'll do something crazy?

So much for her having been checked for weapons as stated..

At which point did it become coherent, because it must have been after I gave up on it. If coherent means "ignoring obvious details for the sake of making the absurd storyline work" then I guess you could call it that.

Personal favourite line from the new ep:

Weston, Hardy and little Joey under fire but in a secure location knowing that the followers are coming to them.

Weston: It's not our guys cos they're waiting on my call

So he doesn't call em for another few minutes....just to make the situation more 'tense'. And I also found it odd that when he puts Joey in the room and exits he is immediately attacked outside the door yet during this Jacob is able to come and take Joey without him seeing?

Season finale this Tuesday (I dont know when it airs in the states), have to say I do think it's picked up these last few episodes and is ending on a high. Still dont think we need a season 2 though

Getting pretty bored of this now, and a second series?

Really?

Should've been one series, sounds like its getting dragged out now. 6-7 seasons long before an end by the way its going :/
