A thread for posting quality ingredients, new foods you've not had before, slightly out of the ordinary buys or things you would recommend others try. It would also be interesting to see any kitchen gadgetry/tools/utensils too if you've purchased something new and fancy.

So I'll get us started:

I've had the terrine before and it is excellent. The jerky is a brand I've never tried before so thought I'd give it a whirl. I just went for the more simple flavoured ones but they had quite a few different flavours, smoked, curry, chilli etc.

I don't think we have one of these threads already, if we have point me in the right direction :)

Fastest town in Scotland...Naaaiiiirn!

I got some funky bits and bobs today at B&M.

Thought I'd try out the Jamaican chilli sauce as we go through a lot of the Louisana in our house.

And some super strength tea bags, that just taste like white label value ones.

Some elderflower water, that is so refreshing.

Also please excuse my rubbish kettle we are in between kettles right now :p

ive had fajitas before but only pre-made ones and the mexican rice i thought looked quite interesting, il serve it up with a jacket spud+coleslaw, pic to follow once cooked and on the plate :)

Fajitas are amazing! I normally stick the salsa you get in the box in with the chicken and veg too so it's quite saucy :D

I'd get some sour cream if you don't already have any. And also add some extra chilli. I quite like the extra heat combined with the cooling sour cream :)

noted :)
i think il also try to find some sort of sweet chilli or teriyaki dip, im a big fan of the Wagamama teriyaki sauce but thats more of a marinade than a dip

Cainer - I am surprised you haven't tried Fajitas before with all the meals I've seen, I would have thought it is right up your street !

Note - go easy on the salsa and sour cream, or it will go everywhere when you bite into it.

And enjoy !

Just got this lot for my lunch, pasta is on special for 99p, parmigiano reggiano and bacon is from yesterdays trip to the shops. i go daily.

Bacon is lovely and smokey and the pasta is beautiful!

Really impressing me with there signature range, some of the sausages are gorgeous, the smoky chipotle chilli especially.

Puff pastry. Never bought it before. It's dead easy to use and cheap and looks good too. Would recommend!

had the fajitas tonight, not very impressed, the rice was carp also.. jacket spuds were good though :)

What sucked about them particularly?

I often find that super market "packs" kind of suck, but with some work you can improve them. If you can be bothered please let us know how you were unimpressed and I'm sure we can suggest improvements :)

This really. Fajitas are pretty bomb-proof really so there are a lot of things that could have gone wrong which we could help you with.

your missing the guacamole which is an excellent flavour in fajitas. also grated cheese, granted these aren't the healthiest of meals but they can be lovely. but they are not for the Mexican connoisseur. Thought this thread would be a little more high brow than home made fajita kits..(I know how that sounds (sorry)).

now i didnt go quite as far as to say they sucked ;) it was my own fault as i didnt manage to get back down the shops to pick up any other dips so we just had the salsa that came with it.. so part of the problem lies there, its a shame they dont have a few more dips in the box,
also i think i would have prefered the Tortillas toasted rather than soft.. but il find that out at lunch time as ive a couple of Tortillas and some filling leftovers in the fridge.
the rice was pretty bad though, smelt good but totally tastless :/
