The **Foodie Purchases** Thread

They are very good, used them for ages now. Did have a monthly box off them, but now just an odd box every now and then. The quality is fantastic. But as you can see, they can also do any cut if you email or phone them. Most places aren't willing to do this. Even fordhall farm wouldn't do other cuts,

A thread for posting quality ingredients, new foods you've not had before, slightly out of the ordinary buys or things you would recommend others try. It would also be interesting to see any kitchen gadgetry/tools/utensils too if you've purchased something new and fancy.

So I'll get us started:

I've had the terrine before and it is excellent. The jerky is a brand I've never tried before so thought I'd give it a whirl. I just went for the more simple flavoured ones but they had quite a few different flavours, smoked, curry, chilli etc.

I don't think we have one of these threads already, if we have point me in the right direction :)

That terrine is great....it is sometimes in the Dine in for £10 deals at Waitrose as a starter!

Looking forward to it. My mate, who's roast potatoes are possibly the worst ever, has decided that he's doing the roast potatoes. Great :(

I marinated a pork sholder last night with brown sugar garlic and various spices its in the slow cooker now on a bed of onion and 1 litre of coke. Going go cook it for 8 hours and shrewd the pork. Mix with a nice bbq sauce and some diced onion and back in the slow cooker for a couple of hours.

I did something very similar. 2.4kg of pork shoulder in a spice rub overnight (smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic and onion powder, cumin, etc) and now I've put it in the oven to cook for 12 hours at a super low temp. Le nom.

That beef looks so nice. If you don't mind me asking how much was it?

Came in at about £115. Not cheap, but seeing as it'd being divided by 10 people who are all chipping in, it works out at just over a tenner a head. It's a pretty lean cut, and with a bit more fat on it it could have added an extra £15 or so.

Looks like it's worth every penny :)
