The Football League Play-Offs ** spoilers ** [7th - 16th May 2015]

I hate Boro's away performances, but meh.

Dimi's clanger was absolutely shocking, but he did pull off good saves, but then so did Brentfords keeper.

Don't think Brentford have a chance at the Riverside, Boro have the best home form in the league (Or at least did a few weeks ago)

If boro were awful then how bad where Brentford...

Judging the teams whole season off one scrappy must win playoff game is a bit silly. We put 4 goals past every playoff team earlier in the season. Guess that was anti football too

I was just commenting on the match I watched last night.

As a club Middlesbrough should be in the PL, as much for the chairman as anyone else.

Personally, I want Brentford to go up. The matches I have seen Norwich play this season I would prefer them to go up and than 'boro.

Jesus, is anyone watching the League 2 semi between Stevenage and Southend? Unbelievably bad impact between two lads there.

Yes, I watched it. Timlin of Southend had 25 stitches in his forehead ! I thought Dembele had his cheek smashed in. Suprised the doc let him back on, you could see he was all over the place.

It was like an American Football clash, without the crash helmets !

Timlin currently wears his heart on his sleeve and his forehead on his shirt. The pictures of his cut are awful and even the pictures of it stitched up aren't much better. Was fighting the physio and wanted to stay on.

Thought we were the better side and Stevenage looked basic apart from the shot for the goal.

Timlin on the bench in the 2nd half ... OUCH !

Crazy match, really hope Sheffield United go up in a weird type of way. The Steel City battles are excellent fun :).

One of the craziest matches I've ever seen, not a showcase for defending, that's for sure.

If Sheff Utd could turn in a fraction of the effort they produced in that match during the rest of the season, they could likely avoid the agony of the playoffs and get up straight because god knows the playoffs won't work.

Poor defending from both sides but an absolute cracking match. We've been poor in defence all season (and had a tendency to sit on shaky leads only to be punished for it) but we missed key players tonight. McEveley is often awful and at his best Alcock makes McEveley look good but we were basically stuck with Laurel and Hardy. Had we had Brayford at fullback, we might have been able to patch together a defensive unit capable enough to keep out some but going 3 down so soon was a hard come back.

Typical though, the team I hate to support make me sick for half an hour and then go and turn in a performance like that on the last game of the season. No doubt I'll feel different with the beer out of the system. I really want to hate them yet I can't.

Don't care how good the match was I see this season as a complete failure. Another season in division one carrying some ageing players. Another season with half the team struggling to get up for games because they think they've got a God given right to win. It's been horrible to watch at the Lane this year on the most part. Disjointed and inconsistent performances. Can beat PL teams but can't make our home ground a fortress in the league. It doesn't help that a lot of teams just park 10 men behind the ball but we've been so inept at times this year it hasn't mattered anyway.

For ****s sake.

It says something that our leading goal scorer (up until tonight anyway) was Baxter, for every good game, he has at least 5 where you wish he'd stayed home. We can't find a reliable scorer, our defence would sometimes be more effective if we just fielded traffic cones and the combined squad height is 3 foot. Clough's alleged grudges don't help either.

On the brightside, Che Adams was good but I remain convinced he's an impact striker rather than starting player. Time for a bit of a clear out.

Quite pleased for Swindon last night. We knocked them out of the play-offs a couple of years ago, and seem to sign their POTY quite frequently, however their youth policy has to be applauded and they seem to play in the right way. Not a big fan of Mark Cooper however, seems to be a tad arrogant.

For a club the size of Sheff UTD, I really do think they need to sort out their recruitment policy, as their attendances/infrastructure would likely give them a very decent playing budget in relation to other teams in the league.
