The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

It's obviously some kind of AF issue which Gregster overlooked, I'm more interested in why the Fury seems to be exhibiting black crush.. does it occur in normal usage or is it a capture issue?

Just look at the gun, grey and detailed on Titan, a black mess on Fury.

That's most likely just a difference in default brightness/gamma levels in drivers. Bump the brightness a little and problem solved.

Unlike missing textures.

It doesn't work like that though because what happens with black crush is that whereas normally you have varying shades of grey, with black crush all of those different shades of grey just get clipped and converted to black.. so even if you then bump the brightness/gamma up all that will happen is the black will become brighter, you'll still be missing the different grey shades and with it the detail.

I think it's probably just a capture issue personally, I can't imagine AMD are doing that for normal usage but Microsoft tried it with Xbox One because it sort of fakes a better contrast (looks less 'washed out' compared to reference levels) so you never know. TBH there are and have been so many anomalies in Gregster's comparison video I'm surprised anyone can take it seriously, but it's given AMD users something to shout about. :p

I still haven't seen any evidence that NVidia are cheating, even members of oc.net have posted perfectly normal screens with draw distance intact, it just seems to be that Gregster's video doesn't have AF enabled for whatever reason.

Differences in brightness, there is tho, on the TX side a lot of missing detail, all over but especially the Tank, looks almost like High Vs Ultra.

A reviews a review, You can't boycott it because you don't like there impression of the card. I don't think it's overly bias they simply saw nothing to rave about.

If as Mei suggests you don't offer it up then you're acting in the same way as what everyone complains about, IE: cherry picking reviewers.

I don't boycott reviews, it is still in the OP along with the rest of them.:)

The only reviews I won't use are the ones that break the forum rules, ones that contain swearing or competitors for example.:)

Is he using any Tessellation tweaks, I don't think these would show up if it is not validated ?

They do normally mate. Will say tessellation has been modified as one of the reasons for lack of validation. It is a HUGE leap in score. Will see what my sample does over the weekend when increasing the memory frequency. It's supposedly locked down according to Robert Hallock, and GPU-Z is in fact misreporting...lol

I have seen a number of scores where the memory has been overclocked but it has not made a big difference.

Have you got any idea what software people are using to overclock the memory.

All I get with an old copy of MSI afterburner is the option to o/c the core.

+50 mem got me an extra 280 points on the GFX score.

AB is what I use to OC the mem. :)
