I bought two and had to return them due to them both having pump issues, I am not slating the card, simply AMD's handling of the siuation, I am out of pocket £37 which is the cost of having to return them insured.
Only today LoadsaMoney has had to return his due to this issue and when AMD reps make silly comments like RIP Whinegate, no one says boo to them.
But owners like myself who paid over £1000 for a pair dares to say something negative and the usual suspects pop their heads out of the sand to have their say and most of them have not owned one.
+1
Had four cards, cost me +2000£ and had to return all of them due to pump noise issue (probably around £80 down in return costs).
Very unhappy with AMD and the poor, if not total lack of, quality control done for what is supposed to be their top of the line high end product. Not to mention AMDJoe's comment earlier in the topic trying to minimize the situation which made me very angry
The Fury X is a great piece of technology and a great achievement in my opinion, and I love it for that. However the Fury X as a retail product is a complete failure to my eyes and an insult to hardware enthusiasts like us. Not just because of the quality issues but also because of the way the problem has been handled by AMD PR/Sales teams. And don't get me wrong I have no hard feelings against either Joe or Matt, I have enough Senior Management experience in big corporations to know that decisions which matter in this case are not made at their level.
Anyway, in my case my attempts to buy a Fury X were the last time I go for an AMD product, I'm done with them.
I have nothing against people who are happy with their purchase but I think it is also legitimate for those of us who had a bad experience to report it on the forum as well. Readers will then make an informed decision on whether or not they want to buy a Fury X.
