The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Dude, what's the longest you've kept a card for. I thought I was bad with CPU's.:D

Ha, I had my 8800 GTX for a long time then I had a 480 and then dual 480's for a long while. Apart from them 7970 and 290X had a good run. Had a few 290X's. Since Kepler I've been moving through them more quickly due to Nvidia's staggered releases i.e mid stuff coming first then high end.

I don't see these as thing to keep forever if that makes sense, I like to test em out. See what's what and then move on to the next. Kind of like how Russell Brand used to be with woman. Only this is safer less likely to lead to STIs.

Just a note about 15.30 drivers.

http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5106854&postcount=354

Ofc this doesn't mean 15.300 series drivers won't be happening in future, but in current situation it's just DmitryKo's quess, they're next in line. AMD's current focus is hard on in 200 series drivers. And they are really looking promising.

Meanwhile new important features are being added to the "beta" 15.200 branch, which is going to be the "stable" release "15.x" at some point and will be supported across the entire range. Diverting resources for 200-series support in the 15.150 branch would only further delay the important 15.200 release.

Adaptive style VSync please :)

Unless Nvidia come out with a suped up, Fury X destroying, 980 Ti that they call a 980 STi...

Nice sig, you must have quite the collection of Green and Red sigs now?

They get deleted as I go along :p

Your honest opinion, Boom. or do you need more time with it?

Yeah the card is the best AMD have ever made. Older cards don't come close. The design, cooling temps are spot on. Amazing for a reference card tbh.

Performance wise need more time with the card, allow drivers to mature. It would be unfair to compare stock Fury X with locked voltage etc against my old mighty Titan X which could do 1400mhz +.

I'm not sure if the Fury X will ever reach Titan X levels in synthetics, gaming wise Fury X has been great, 1080P is fine, at higher res it does better against it's piers.

I set the bar high with my benchmark of choice in 3DMark11 http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27944513&postcount=3, Titan X is crazy fast, not sure if I will beat it with this card. Never say never though.

Aiming to beat this: Might need volt mod and LN2 :p

Never understood why people where worried about power usage - still don't.

Cryptocurrency aside, it's because people need to know if their current PSU can cope. Buying a new GPU - particularly a second GPU - may involve not just the purchase of said GPU but also a PSU. And a decent PSU costs decent money. Look at the success of the Geforce GTX 750 and 750 Ti. Both are perfect for someone with a Dell or HP or whichever PC with a modest 300W PSU.

Matt put a few up I think?

If you can give me link to what it is I can run it for you.

Well I was running bitcoin miner earlier, but no use for you to go for it if you don't already have it. Bitcoin mining with gpu's haven't been beneficial in a long time. Would have just been interested of performance.

Thanks Boom, I tend to think Future Mark is actually pretty good for a fair comparison, Unigine Heaven and Valley are particularly bad for AMD.

Our benchmark threads are not really representative of the cards for gaming anyway, most of the people competing in it (Including me) wouldn't and can't run their GPU's the way they do there for gaming.

what about the Buffer, is it effective at using its 4GB?

Yeah I don't even understand bitcoin mining mate. Wouldn't no where to start lol.

I think the Anadtech reviews did some more compute based tests. Fury X did well there.
