As usual he has put it behind his paywall, but lack of wafers is one possible answer.

what the hek ? why even post it on the website, can't he just email the article or link to the subs ? or he just have to rub it in your face, then tells you , srry can't see...
personally i would go with bad yields(maybe very bad), maybe addition to volume needed for mainstream segment, and available wafers to nvidia.
and seriously nobody here got the sub ?

Interesting Steam's June 2016 hardware survey now got GTX 1080 share at 0.09% in June for Windows 10 DirectX 12 systems but Valkan Linux and Windows systems data was not up yet.

Accorded to Steamspy.com there was total of 175,400,622 steam users as end of June, 0.09% translated into 157,860 GTX 1080 owners worldwide.

I am really amazed that GTX 1080 sold in biggest volume in first month much better than GTX 980, 980 Ti and Titan X did in first month as far as I remembered.

GTX 1070 and RX 480 was not in database yet, we probably will have to wait until August or September to get first numbers. :)
