The Grand Tour

They are right about cars in France, they all look battered :D

You can tell this was made to a tight budget and timeframe though. Isn't this the one they had to make quickly because they couldn't get to Russia?

GT was slowly dying anyway but COVID has killed it. The age of the trio doesn't help.

It comes to something when ten/hundreds of millions are thrown at this but youtube channels like FortNine (motorcycles) with tiny budgets are writing better (albeit short), content and have equally good production, and wittier jokes.

Mrs Sexy reckons I have a French attitude to cars.
I've only had six since 1975
I've never sold a car because they all go to the breakers yard
People have bumped me and I just get out and shrug my shoulders and get on with the day
and so on .......

Concur, I actually liked it. Especially the trebuchet at the end lol
Ditto, i watched this thinking that while this feels a little low budget, that it is very refreshing to be back to some basics. I found many parts funny and i feel that the whole "high budget lets go to a third world location on some sort of road trip" is overdone now.

Slightly bemused to hear that a 205GTI is now worth money. Some friends and I had (a high mileage bashed up bought for near scrap) one among a few other old cars in the fields when we were children, we smashed it up driving it around off road.

That was one of the best GT episodes I thought, and much better than the recent TG episodes. I thought they were going to tebuchet the car into the Channel at the end so was slightly disppointed not to see that :p

Watched this today, good few laughs, made me chuckle. I can see how people thought this was a 'normal' segment stretched over a full episode as it didn't have a overarching journey throughout, overall a decent way to spend an hour on a Sunday evening.

I watched it today and while it was far from their best, it was a hell of a lot better than the last special and actually had quite a few good laughs in it.

This should definitely be the last “season” though. They are obviously struggling for ideas

There was 2-3 genuine very funny bits but the rest was a bit of a drag other than the race once it got going was actually fairly decent - in fact far more interesting than the last few seasons of F1, etc. though that isn't really hard. Overall I didn't really find it compelling watching though.

What with the last season of F1 being heralded as the best ever season by some....

What was with the napkin on James face, I feel like I missed the joke.

Oh yeah, I forgot that. Did he have to isolate when they were filming those bits, so they put some guy with a napkin on his head in his place maybe?

(Okay, Reddit says it's a joke about Clarkson's previous French video - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6liz0z around 35 to 38 mins)
