The Great British Theft Epidemic

They're all sat in an office patrolling social media.

Do you know any police?
I know an inspector, he says they spend basically no time on that stuff, their numbers are only just starting to recover to where they were, let alone to have moved to the level they should have based on the population change
He says the main reason you see so few police is they are basically filling in all the gaps from the other services, so mental health, problem getting an ambulance to someone etc.

Stop buying **** online and go out more.

Shoplifting is largely gang crime now. Not for people starving in the street. Needs serious policing yes.

Don't buy a keyless car.

Sorted.

Ah a serious response to the problem. Silly me, buying stuff online. :)
Keyless cars....don't get much choice on a lot of them now. My nearly 10 year old Clio has keyless entry.

Oh yea, it’ll be so much better under Labour. What a daft sentiment.

Community spirit isn’t a thing any more, people are only out for themselves, would rather film a robbery in progress to put onto Tiktok for the reactions rather than make any meaningful contribution to society.
Never said things would be better under Labour things will never get better in this country the way this country is run but can't deny Tory's have only pushed this country down the toilet and took I giant dump on it before flushing it down the river with the rest of the sewage

We had one of our vans broken into while the lads were working away in high Wycombe at a premier Inn last month not 1 copper came out just here's a crime number 1800 quids worth of damage and 4k worth of tools and equipment stolen to be sold for a bag of smack down a boozer

That's what crime fighting is in this country

Think it would be different if owners or property and stores has the ability to physically defend their property and possessions.
This, it needs to happen.

Someone tried to rob your house and you shoot them, its their problem.

Right now the law will only protect the robber, the police wont be bothered, give you a crime number tell you to go to your insurance.

But if you shoot someone invading your home damn straight they'll be there in 5 minutes to arrest you.

I don't know any anymore. I can imagine yes. You mention starting to recover... in my mind, Police levels are probably in the single figures percents of what they should be.

Re keyless theft, I'm still amazed that anyone involved in the design of most of the keyless systems thought "yeah this is a great idea, a key that doesn't require you to be near the car and is always on". How much is an accelerometer these days? and why is pressing a button considered so hard.
It's like no one in the car industry remembered the pre immobilizer days (hey my ford key opens this vauxhall!), or the early "remote locking" days when you could get a "learning all4one" from Argos and pick up the single code from the IR keyfob.

As for porch theft, it's not really new, just that it's become much more common for stuff to be left on the porch/door step, it was an issue when I was a kid, and my dad has tales of it from the 40's but that was usually milk and bread etc, not potentially games consoles or other expensive goods.

Protect your stuff or risk it being stolen. Village life where everyone left their doors open has not been a thing for decades.

You can use a wheel lock on your clio. My nearly new Kia uses a key still.

I am for tough sentencing for shoplifting though.

Shoplifters, particularly those who assault staff in the process should carry a hefty minimum sentence.

It’s a weekly occurrence on the local news now, where some shop has been done over and either the owner or members of staff have been hit in the process.

There was a gnarly video the other day of someone trying to stop a car theft on their drive and getting squished between the car door and a brick wall, their arm was a bit mashed. I can't see things improving.

Happened in Doncaster which is about 25 mins from me.

Our police forces have become police farces. Too scared about offending crims to actually deal with them

The result of which is no change going by America's degeneracy
what do you mean by this? No change in terms of?

Minimum sentence? To what come out and do the same thing again for a 5 week free stay in HMP luxury?

It's driving up insurance costs as well.

Neighbours posh Volvo got npinched off their drive at 4am couple of months back, they used some sort of handheld device (hard to see at night with CCTV) unlocked it without even touching it, and within about 2 minutes drove it off.

Now our house insurance has gone up by 100% since last year, and I am not even going to mention how much it would cost to insure our 17 year old on one of our cars, basically its not going to happen.

So what happens is, people already struggling have to pay higher and higher insurance costs, becuase this is effectively what is now funding the lack of police, until what, you cannot afford it? Cant take action into your own hands becuase you get screwed even worse.

What a **** hole this country is becoming, I am 40 years old never in my life anywhere near like it is now.

We are seeing brass balls who recently walk in a shop pick up what they want and walk out and the shop keepers have been posted videos of the theft but the police won’t investigate if it’s under £300 and they telling the shop keepers to claim on their insurance.

So they keep it under the amount to have no involvement with police.

Not sure if this is every where else. I don’t know what’s going on.
