The Great Preseason Thread

It's never good to lose, particularly to Utd but given that most of our senior players had their first training session on Sunday, I'm not going to be overly concerned with that. I didn't manage to watch the 2nd half but it was interesting to see Carvalho playing in the midfield 3.
 
Sack EtH, losing to Aussie nobodies.

A useful game for the players honestly because MV are defending like England at the Euros with 9 players, something we have struggled with in recent years. You can see the kernels of what EtH is starting to encourage but its still very alien to most of the team. Unsurprisingly the likes of Sancho are looking the most comfortable with the new setup.
 
These "second XI" teams are a good example of just how much work EtH has to do in order to change the culture at the club. There is such a lack of cohesion as soon as the guys that play with each other every week are gone. Even in the first half against Liverpool you could see how their second string wanted to play because Klopp wants everyone to know what their role at Liverpool will be.
