The Green wing

Ive been watching it, ive missed a few tho :( , i pmsl all the way through. I think that Dr Statham (sp?) is funny as ****, he has me in stitches all the time. I also like scrubs but its a total different kind of comedy, both are good though.

I am still laughing at bits of last nights show. Pure comedy genius.
Radiologist dude is awesome and cupboard lady just gets better and better.
He just had to finsih that glass off even though they had left the room. Laughing and gagging at the same time is so hard. :p
The cast is just so strong i cannot fault anyone.

Scrubs is way up there for me also. Another quality comedy show.

Last night's was great..

Dr. Statham covered in boxes :p

By chance does anyone know where to get hold of any of the music/compositions in this show from?

The guy that did the Green Wing music (Trellis/Jonathan Whitehead) has supposedly won awards for it.

There's no 3rd season sadly :( Only a wrap up Christmas Special episode.

And I cannot believe that people are putting 'My name is Earl' in the same league as Green Wing.

I agree, you'd have to tell me it was a comedy as I've never found it slightly funny.

You really need to follow a season of Scrubs then to understand the deeper meanings behind each episode, the running stories through the past 4 seasons have been great. It's not just a slapstick comedy as many people who have only seen a few episodes here and there think.

A lot of episodes are a lot darker and have morals behind them.

And there's always that episode in season 3 which was voted the greatest TV episode of anything ever, too.

Far from mindless. :)

I've watched alll the Scrubs like a lot of other people. It is excellent, but it is completely different to Green Wing.

Scrubs still follows the general American sit com rules in that every episode tries to teach you a moral you should already know. It can get quite sickening at times. It does get away with marginalyl more than most mainstream sitcoms, but it is still a standard one.

Green Wing on the other hand is just weird. There's no moral to be force fed in any of the shows and it really is unpredictable and off the wall. It's absolutely brilliant. I'm not sure why it is even compared to Scrubs as it is a completely different style of show in every way possible apart from that it's set in a hospital.

If you're comparing Scrubs to it, why not Casualty or Doctors too?

Because Caualty isn't a comedy.

But you have a point, the only reason Green Wing/Scrubs are compared is because they are set in a hospital. They are 2 totally different types of comedy though.

Yep the special tonight which i will be watching, only discovered this show recently i think its great, pure comedy at its best, sad that there won't be a 3rd series :(

Another vote here for Green Wing being the funniest thing on telly for a long time.

The script writer deserves a medal, I dont think there has ever been a show before where every character has a had a moment of having me in stitches.

The best character for me though has to be the eccentric doctor (you all know which one i mean). His inability to cope with intimate social situations is hilarious. And the way they have the young student doctor playing on his weakness by putting him in akward situations - class.

Ill be making sure i have every alarm clock in the house set for the special tonight.
