The GTR is dead! Long live the cryptolambo!

Went 305 over 295 at last change, both approved Audi specs for my car.

Yea, I think there can be upto 4% rolling difference on the gallardo, will double check and possibly upsize the rears.

Loving the car BTW, still looks as fantastic and angular as ever. You just need your private plate on it and some non gloss black wheels :p

Private plate will go on soon as the V5 turns up.

Agreed on the wheels.

Just sayin

Yea, am going to go for a silver or grey over black.

So far I have converted the best part of £150 worth of dinosaurs into such lovely noises.

On the way back today had to pass under a motorway, as I pulled into the right lane and downshifted a guy in a van wound his window down in the left lane... the car absolutely SCREAMS.

Pretty dirty now, but the bright color hides it well :D

Depends on the area really.

As long as you have decent security in place (cctv, house alarm, tracker, disk lock etc) I can't see it being an issue.

Especially if you don't live on a main street. No one is going to be passing who isn't local rather than the car getting spotted whilst travelling through.

In a perfect world a gate & garage would be ideal, or another car to block it in. Depends how far you wanna go.

Exactly this.

1) Its covered by 2 CCTV cameras at different angles, the moment anyone walks past the fencing into our driveway view, bang theyre on CCTV.
2) It gets blocked in by another car each night.
3) It's a good area.
4) Our road has people working all hours of the day, so theres usually someone around.
5) We are tucked up the far corner of our estate so anyone dodgy looking will be noticed long before they get to our road.
6) Our house security is top notch.

In the 25 odd years we have lived here, I can recall of only half a dozen incidents on the estate, usually kids trying doorhandles to see if any are unlocked, the last time I spotted one on camera and rang the guy at the bottom of the road, we both went out and collared the kid who broke down in tears when the five-0 turned up to cart him off (this was at around 4 in the morning).

So because I actually, you know... drive the car, it got a bit dirty, especially as our council seem to like to salt the roads for 3 inches of snow for even a minor frost...

Anyway didnt want to give it a full wash just yet so a quick snow foam for 20 minutes and power hose off. More than adequate to just talk the salt off.

Serious Q regarding salt and washing the car at home..

In car washes you can add a "chassis/underside" option. But what's the option if you hand wash at home? One day that salt will start eating away at the underside..

Realistically you need to get it privately sealed by a specialist and then dont worry about it.

Are you going to track the lambo @kindai?

Yep :D

It's sad. Why hate on somebody who's worked hard to achieve what he wants.

I'll never understand it.

How are you finding it against ownership of your GTR? Do you miss the GTR at all?

Yes, the GTR is a completely different car in how it feels, how it delivers power, how it handles. Hopefully ill be in position to own both in the not so distant future.

Congrats on the car. Now go get a haircut :D

(I couldn't care less what others do with their money, finance deals cost £lol nowadays, even someone on a modest salary can drive a fancy car if they're a bit savvy and make the right decisions / sacrifices, salty people are idiots if they don't realise this)

Its falling out, no need to get it cut :)

And yes, 3.5% is what my finance ended up on in the end. I was happy sub 5.

This threads not for you poorer

I now have strong sugary tea dripping out my nose. Thanks Housey.

I view threads like this as a motivation

Honestly, most of it is just being financially prudent, and a bit of luck. I have an excellent credit rating, dont live month to month on credit cards / overdrafts / and just live within my means and have a decent amount saved away. When you can show banks that you are a low risk customer, they line up to throw money at you for high value assets.

Exactly, and I also openly admit to being jelly of Crinkle but it just drives me to earn more. I could never be jelly of Kindai tho, dude looks like a 70s porn star :D

I see this reverse psychology going on. Dont worry, ill sign you an autograph and give you a tub of enlargement cream at next meet.

Hi all!

So have now been out in the G for... everyday since I've had it, so 12 days, fed it nearly £350 of fuel and driven it in a variety of conditions.

Every time I get in this car, I feel like a million quid. I'm driving a frikkin Lamborghini! From the moment it starts up to the moment it turns off I'm sat there grinning my face off like a 3 year old.

The sound is absolutely addictive, you want to keep it over 3k RPM just to open the valves just to hear it scream. This had meant driving around a lot in lower gears... hence the fuel bill haha.

The car itself feels extremely twitchy despite being AWD, yet at the same time I've only had TC kick in a couple of times. It actually makes it quite heart pounding to drive, and changing gears on anything but the straightest of roads gives a sensation that its about to slide, you sit there waiting to catch it, but it never happens, then it bangs that clutch in and you go from half terror to half insatiable thirst for more. It really is something else.

Have decided to book a day in with Colin at CATDT to explore the limits of the car safely. Drove back today and despite knowing the roads and taking them considerably faster in the GTR, in the Lambo it felt right on the very edge the entire time, I got out heart racing, palms sweaty and the best feeling of enjoyment ever! The GTR flatters, it really does, but I never got out of it thinking or feeling like getting out the Lambo. Absolutely the right choice to switch.
