i use evga precision to overclock.

your default or base clock is what you are guaranteed to get in games , the boost clock is what you could get if you keep under the thermal throttle/ voltage limits .

when over clocking with precision x you are adding a offset to the base and boost clock. ie +110 mhz .

keep in mind gpu boost 2.0 will push the card over your stated boost clock depending on temp and voltage . ie mine ran at 1345 out of the box.

Cheers so your saying that you are basically increasing the clock offset which in turn increases the base and the boost.

How do you control the boost so that it doesn't go too much over what you want? Or is this automatically controlled now?
 
Got a buyer for my 2 780ti's. would have done the MM but nowhere near 1k posts.

Going to order the G1, Gibbo - is this really in tomorrow as will pay for Saturday delivery if so :)

Scheduled for tomorrow but it's with UPS who are having strikes at the moment so we shall just have to see.

Both this and the G1 are aftermarket boards with 2x8-pin so should be comparable... the G1 has 3x 75mm fans, this has 2x100mm so should be a lot quieter

you might just be at the mercy of the silicon lottery in terms of maximum overclock though

im basically ditching 2 x 780ti and gaming on an acer 1440p gsync 270hu. found some games dying with what im guessing is the 3gb limit on my 780s.

will i notice much difference with g1 or the msi gaming? being a bit impatient haha. can happily wait for the g1

No looks like EVGA still shipped none, they seem to be struggling to make them.

I'd personally chose another card that is in stock unless your happy to wait, but realistic looks like it could be at least another couple of weeks.
 
Ordered an MSI Gaming, but worried its gona be too tall to fit in my Corsair 250D with the cooler sitting a bit wider than the pcb and the heat pipes further still. :/

Guess I will find out tomorrow.
