The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Apparently there has been a big mixup at London's central DPD hub, I've been waiting three days for a case, and it looks like I'll have to wait for the 980ti a while as well.
It's ridicolous considering that OCUK upgraded my delivery for free as a 8:30-10, and it never arrived.
So if you're in London, brace yourselves ._.

They are physically capable of receiving much more power than they need (though limited by the BIOS) because of the power load balancing that NVidia GPU's have had for a few generations now.

That's a bit backwards, electrical items will always only pull what they need, the fact is here they are capable of pulling a lot more but are being limited by the bios

Just flashed the Max Air bios from overclock.net and my card Msi Gaming is suddenly much louder which makes me think the Msi bios is limiting fan speed for quietness. Any thoughts? I am probably going to flash back because even with the power limit upped im still being restricted on core speed for some reason, trying for 1500mhz but it gets pegeed backe to 1487.

Same thing happened to me, didn't know the bios locked the fan settings (couldn't do anything in afterburner).

i just flashed straight back as the card didn't seem to like it two complete feezes at 1500mhz +50mv with red artifacts despite having reached the same clockspeed on the Msi bios before getting power limited with no added voltage. I did notice about 5c cooler maybe a little more before the crashes.

Guys, where are these EVGA Classified cards? If they are not on the website by tomorrow 3pm as buy it and receive on Friday, i'll buy a Zotac AMP! Extreme...

What should I go for? MSI 6G OR Zotac AMP! Extreme? It seems like the Zotac stays incredibly cool from the reviews and reports that I've seen, and it sounds like it clocks like an absolute beast. What do you guys reckon?

Can't go wrong with either of those. They're both quiet cards with excellent cooling it seems. The Zotac has fantastic clocks out the box so it will be the one I go for. Probably going to purchase tomorrow.

When i change desktop colour settings and reboot or go into a fullscreen game my second monitor will change back to default, really annoying as it looks white washed using HDMI without tweaking it.

Well, after using AMD/ATI cards for a number of years I've just fitted my first nvidia card in ages. Went for the MSI 980ti Gaming.

Pretty impressed so far. Coming from two 7970's, it's way quieter (silent on idle) and back to a single card system so don't have to worry about crossfire etc anymore.

Think my original 7970 was starting to have a few issues which drove me to switch. :)
