The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Only by editing the bios - but chances are if you need more voltage you'll also need a higher power limit as well
Most people are getting the best overclocks with between +20 and +50mv, setting +87 just means you hit the power limit sooner

Even at +87 I am not hitting a power limited, but I am hitting a voltage limit.

Arrived early this morning :D

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your 980 Ti.

Question here, I've got my card O.C - 110% power and no voltage touched, after reading some things here i decided to play about an hour of gta v and have a look at some of the results in afterburner

GPU 1 powerlimit stayed at 0 - didnt move
Gpu 1 Voltage limit hit 1 (so that means im hitting the max voltage right? even though I've not added any voltage to the card?)

and GPU 1 OV max limit stayed at 0 (so am I not hitting my max voltage after all?)

just a quick question form people here

also - hitting 13GB pagefile usage with 8gb of ram - seem okay?

Hi there

Zotac AMP Extreme winning awards:
http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/zotac-geforce-gtx-980-ti-amp-extreme-review,1.html

Had a play with one, but am hitting power limits as BIOS is only 111% which is a shame for such a beefed up card.

Still on stock voltage 1520/8200 clocks, mighty impressive and completely noiseless, even during benching sometimes the fans stop spinning as the card struggles to exceed 60c the cooler is so damn large.

Quietest card fan wise I've come across and great thing is when they spin up they start slow, so no initial spin up noise. :)

P.S. Out the box the card boost at over 1400MHz as well and has clocked memory, serious out of box performance, no other card on the market rivals it.

A question regarding upping the volts, is there a danger to increasing them to say 50mv on a reference cooled TI (assuming the temps are low) on the default bios?.

I've tended to shy away from adjusting the volts by much, but would be interesting to see how it goes.

Always find max OC on stock volts first. As sometimes more voltage can hinder OC depending on silicon and power limits.

The percentage doesn't mean much on its own, for example a reference board comes with the default power limit at 250W so 110% is 275W... The MSI gaming has its default at 275W and an upper limit of 300W at 109%... Lower percentage but higher actual power limit

You need to download the BIOS to see what it's set to, though if its topping out at around 1500 then it probably isn't much different to all the other cards that are hitting 1500's

Weird thing is that dual 8pin allows 375W, but board makers are setting the power limit at 300W which is what 6+8 should allow

Very happy, should receive mine in an hour or so

They are physically capable of receiving much more power than they need (though limited by the BIOS) because of the power load balancing that NVidia GPU's have had for a few generations now.

A single 6-pin and single 8-pin PCIe power connection coupled with the 75W from the 16x PCIe slot provide up to 300W of power — 50W above the GTX 780 Ti's TDP of 250W so there is some capacity for overvolting and overclocking. With this card NVIDIA introduces a new power management strategy called Power Balancing to ensure no single supply source is overloaded. By load balancing the power source the expectation is a higher maximum overclock — something realized in my testing.

The Inno3D on offer this week is a great card. Just been reviewed by Hexus. Mine overclocked to 1480/7900 +20mv @67% Asic, extremely quiet (besides the coil whine that lead to the RMA).
