The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

I agree, I could go on another well known computer site and they all have set days of when the EVGA cards will be in, Likewise with everything else.

Why not just push the date forward instead of set it to OVERDUE, That could mean 2 days or 2 months. Am giving it to monday lol, The funny thing is the more people that give up the closer I get to the front of the que as well D:!

This is what I don't understand. I don't think the blame lies entirely on EVGA. I think OCUK messed up or misunderstood when exactly these cards were supposed to arrive.

was interested in the 980 ti hybird, but think im going to just stick with the titan z and watercool it instead, I cba for the annoying waiting of when new cards come out, its not like we are getting a bargain or anything we are willing to shell out hundreds for a card will be worth half in a years time yet we have to wait like we got it for £100 on a super deal lol

Reminds me of the 6800 ultra launch, virtually bugger all stock and people calling to confirm their place in the queue. That wasn't yesterday either.

Its all about expectations. When you put 3/6/15 as ETA on cards that are due to arrive an entire week later - you **** off a lot of people. I sold my Titan X and am GPU-less right now. Intel 4600 FTW.

I'm in almost the same boat. My 780 died so I've been GPU-less for 2 weeks now, saw the 3/6/15 ETA and thought "Nice one, I'll grab one and have it for the weekend". Now turns out I'm spending a second weekend stuck at 60Hz with sub-par FPS.

Unless I hear from this other supplier regarding tomorrow delivery I'm just going to order a card from abroad and put up with potential language barriers / warranty / RMA issues.

I rip out my 780 to ship off to tomorrow to a member of this forum I sold it to. Then until I get my card. I'm without a GPU.

Yup, bad time for gibbo to be away as it seems nobody else really is updating on the forum about whats going on.

Was so tempted to grab a Palit but figured I'd rather wait a few days to get the model I actually want since I'll keep this card for 1/2 years

Managed to grab the last Palit in stock!, just confirmed through chat, should be here tomorrow.

Only reason I wanted to avoid that one / Inno3D is I don't know their policy when it comes to stock coolers, apparently they can both be a pain in the ***

Oh man, When my 980 died I had to run on a 4600. Was... uh.. great.... XD

You:Hey Rich, Do you guys have any brands of 980TI's in stock at all today?

Rich:hey dude we had some palit cards come in but they sold straight out

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo, You evil person :P

Just received my EVGA SC Reference card today (from somewhere other than OcUK) and so far I'm pleased with it.

I was debating about whether to go for the reference model or an aftermarket version before preordering, and after hearing people say how noisy the reference card is I was considering sending it straight back.

Thankfully, while it is certainly louder than my previous DCUII 770, it isn't really audible at all over my other case fans and is essentially silent at idle. I have my computer under my desk about half a meter or so away from where I'm sat.

I'm running a Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm fan as intake and a stock corsair case fan as an exhaust, both at minimum speeds, and while I wouldn't say they're quiet fans, they're not unreasonably loud either. The fact that my reference card isn't heard above them is great.

As for performance, I've only run a few benchmarks so far but the card out benched my 770 (unsurprisingly!) at 1440p max settings on Unigine Valley by 97% and on Unigine Heaven by 122%.

Not had a chance to test many games yet, but I've been sitting on Witcher 3 since the 19th of May dying to play it, so I'm gonna go and test that out now.

As for power draw / heat / clock speeds:

My card was boosting to 1339Mhz out of the box according to GPU-Z, a nice improvement over the rated 1190Mhz boost clock.

The fan speed hit a maximum of 56% (2436 RPM) and the maximum GPU temp was 85 degrees, but for the most part it sat at a stable 84 degrees (as it is designed to, I would imagine?)

Power draw was being reported as 101.2% of TDP, presumably because of the factory overclock applied by EVGA.
