Tempted to sell both my 780's for a 980ti, kind of fed up with SLI. Well mainly the heat and I can't be bothered with WC again!
I did the same as well... but considering getting one of those 100hz 3440 gsync monitors so it might be back to SLI again lol
What a beast of a card

Another review sample that seems to differ greatly from the retail product in terms of acoustics at least.

Without reading the review, probably a cherry picked card.
Or the reviewers are getting paid by the manufacturer.

Just received my EVGA GTX 980Ti "Reference Cooler" from OcUK.
This is replacing two EVGA GTX780 in SLI (also Reference Coolers). Prior to that I've had GTX580, and then a long-line all the way back to inception.
The rear mounting bracket of this new EVGA GTX 980Ti is getting very hot and I can smell a plastic burning smell, possibly the DisplayPort/DVI plastic shrouds?
Is it normal for the rear-bracket to get this hot? My precious cards were warm, but not can't touch warm!
(I do know that non-reference coolers are better, but I want the heat exhausted out of the back for SLI, plus my case isn't the best for air-flow).
