Selling my current 670 so i'll be without a card over the weekend but can order my 980ti friday What can I expect compared to a 670?
GPU temperature is fine, it will hit 83C in The Witcher3, but around 60C in GTAV.Check the card temps via Afterburner or Gpuz, if ok the cards just burning off some new card smell and will clear up once it's been ran for a while.

I'm now running EVGA Precision with a boosted fan profile to keep the rear bracket cooler.
But, anyone with a reference cooler able to confirm that the rear metal bracket gets very hot?

It's got 80C air blasting past it and you want to know if it gets hot?
The cards running as intended, don't worry about it.
From EVGA said:Hi,
I am sorry to hear this and it should not get too hot to touch and there should not be a burning smell. Please check with the place of purchase for replacement options and if they are unable to assist with a replacement please contact us back with the serial number of the card and if you have not done so register the card here and we can assist with an RMA.
Regards,
EVGA
Mine is too hot to touch, I measure 60-70C on the metal bracket under load. The rear of the GPU where the display cables are connected may get warm when the system/graphics card is under load but it shouldn't be too hot to touch.
Yeah go for the HoF simply for the looks. The 6G and HoF are both very similar. I'd pick either over the G1.
