Shadow Play is handy, even if you don't want to record gameplay, the fps overlay is nice.

My heart goes out to you, coil whine is extremely annoying. EVGA have good RMA apparently so you should be back up and running fairly soon

. Both my EVGA SC's are as quiet as a mouse no coil whine even up to 1550mhz, so hopefully your new one will be the same. EVGA is a very good RMA company so you shouldnt have a problem with them.

How did you get this out of curiosity ? I ask as the highest I've seen is 1550 even on the select Kingpin models.

So....

My package came, I opened the shipping box to find this:

I was like "Oh God it was probably a careless owner that didn't care about the box at all", so I didn't have high hopes. Turns out, this was in that box:

So, got a factory sealed Strix for £100 less than its usual price because a certain website assumed that it didn't have its original box, pretty happy.

Not sure how TROH works, since I'm on it for my G1 purchase in early July. :eek:

, wish it was 1650 lol. But no the cards with a custom bios will do 1550mhz as their maximum. Cant get any more out of them. I only use it for benchmarking though as the increased power consumption isnt worth it.

Hah no, I think I've actually been lucky for once. It whines at 200+ FPS but it's not audible with my side panel on, so I'm keeping it.

Looking at getting a 980ti but theres so much choice!! Ideally I want the MSI Gaming but thats £560 (I have an MSI gaming mobo so the red and black matches (not all that bothered though)). Ive seen the MSI Armor 2x for £499 So the gaming is clocked a little higher but any reason its £60 more?? Also OCUK have the KFA2 for £490 but there are no reviews and im unsure if Ive ever even heard of them haha.

Any thoughts?

The Gaming 6G is quite a popular card on this forums and I think the only person to have problems with it was Gerard, but everything breaks for him. It has a custom PCB which likely means it clocks better (of course, it's ultimately down to luck), and MSI's quiet cooler.

I saw the MSI Armour 2x for £499 too, after doing a bit of research the Armour 2x is quite a budget cooler, so the Frozr would be better for cooling, and quite possibly acoustics too. The sheer lack of reviews for the Armour 2x put me off.

KFA used to be known as Galax(y), 8 Pack works with them a lot if that's any reassurance.

I'd personally wait until Wednesday when "This Week Only" is updated, it seems they removed all the This Week Only offers on GPUs to promote the KFA this week - Hopefully the Inno3D Hybrid drops back down to £540, as that's a solid choice for the money. The MSI 6G was also £535 last week, it could go down again
