I originally had the 980ti G1 then went for the EVGA 980ti ftw which was great but then as usual I changed my mind and went for this and Im loving it so far only just installed it an hour ago :)
 
Very nice Delpy - I love EVGA's packaging on their high end stuff, I think minimalist packaging screams professionalism.

Enjoy the card though, and make sure you claim your free shroud :)

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your 980 Ti.​
 
What would be the recommended max temp for a reference card? I'm currently chilling at a max of 70 with a custom fan curve at 1440p at max settings, and 4k with some lowered on gtav.

Just wondering :)

EVGA are based in Germany, so there will be no taxes and I'm guessing if it's anything like the Royal Mail over there it'll be around a fiver for postage.
 
It's a shroud, not an actual graphics card :p

You could ask Ben @ EVGA, or EVGADominik (I am pretty sure I have your name wrong, I'm sorry) and they should be able to give you an estimate.

UPS are quite expensive but I'd imagine it'd be a bit different if you get a huge contract with them, in comparison to being a lone sender. I doubt it'll be as much as £20 but we will see.

3840x2160 = 8294400 pixels

Thats not irrelevent at all 4K is a lot of pixels for a GPU to render/shade/light/manipulate AF, AA etc etc
 
Just went from an Enthoo Luxe to an Evolv Atx and luckily the aluminium panels muffle the sound much better so that I can live happily with my G1.
Temps are also down a few degrees, overall better thought out case.
 
Is that something you see work better than forcing 60fps via nvidia control panel or in game?

I normally have in game vsync off, but nvidia control panel on adaptive and it seems fine.
 
I have never used V-Sync in NVidia Control Panel, does it work in menus of games and such? If so, that'd probably be a better option.

I just do it to stop whine on my card during menus (Dirt Rally being the main issue to memory), wasn't aware NVidia V-Sync was different to the ones that traditionally come in games.

I normally leave vsync off in actual game menus. So for example GTAV, I have the vsync option in game off, but within Nvidia Control panel I force it to adaptive as it prevents stuttering whilst locking it in at 60fps.

For mad max, adaptive doesn't seem to work too well(stuttering) so I once again put vsync off within the game itself, but force vsync On via NVidia control panel - once again 60fps and no stuttering.

I generally never use in game vsync options as the Nvidia control panel does such a good job at doing it and you can set it up as you want, per game you have.

Also - I don't use fraps anymore which is why I migrated my vsync options back to NVC.

Try to think about what people are saying to you, we're genuinely trying to help.

If your card usage shows 99% at 1080p then do you think if you switch to 4k in the same game that the usage will increase?

If you're testing for temperature then you need the usage at 99%. The resolution is irrelevant.

That is interesting, as the Nvidia control panel triple buffering option only works in OpenGL games (hence me installing Direct3dOverrider from Rivatuner to force it in DirectX games). I guess I assumed the vsync option was the same.

In this guide for capping framerate and ensuring smooth frame times on the Witcher 3, Durante suggests that borderless window mode uses windows vsync and triple buffering, whereas fullscreen mode will only vsync

I honestly don't know why the in game vsync and triple buffering can't be better so we don't have to run 3 background programs just to get rid of screen tearing and stuttering. Also is annoying that options like brightness disappear in borderless windowed mode
