What is the most cost effective option for having two of these in a custom watercooling loop? I'd ideally like a pair of EVGA Hydro Coppers but they're never in stock anywhere. I'm thinking the best alternative in terms of price/performance might be to go with the EVGA SC+ (with backplate) and the EK Titan X waterblock. Does anyone have any advice?

What ASICs do you have and how do they overclock ?
My cards are good on air but hate extra volts.

The Kingpin is a higher ASIC, Has an all copper heatsink and more power available to it, That's pretty much it.
Actual clocks are like any other 980 Ti, You'll either get a high clocking one or a low clocking one, Silicon lottery.
JayzTwoCents 980 Ti Kingpin wouldn't go over 1520 on the core and it's the same story with most aftermarket 980 Ti's, You either get lucky or you don't.
My 980 Ti Classified can run stable at 1525 on the core and 8250 on the memory.
Also the Kingpin is only available straight from EVGA's web store as it's really a speciality part meant more for LN2 clockers.
So you don't think there's any point in going for an SC card, so I'm at least guaranteed a slight overclock? And EVGA's customer service?

All 980 Ti's can get 1400 easy on the core, Just get the cheapest 980 Ti reference you can and slap some blocks on them.

I see. It is a damn pretty card with that all copper heatsink. That was what really caught my eye. I see it is in 4 price ranges. I also had no idea Kingpin is an extreme overclocker. Just assumed it was a marketing name/brand for top dog. Vince Lucido. So to some extent this is like a form of Fatality but in hardware instead of gaming itself where Fatality made his name.
The matte grey/black/mesh vent/copper combination is absolutely gorgeous! Especially the customised LEDs.
They look even better in real life.

On air with an 80% plus ASIC version they can do well over 1500 on the core without any extra volts and run very cool too.
Having said that there are a lot of 980 Ti's that offer far better bang for buck.

ASIC`s ?. I have them from factory setting, I haven't tried over clocking them as they run everything I need untill I get my new monitors. But that'll have to wait till after Christmas.

Yes, I went a little OTT as I had a 7990 installed previously. The bottom two rads can be removed now as temps max out at 40C with the 780ti.
They look even better in real life.

The Kingpins also give the illusion the card is single slot.
They are dual slot but do come with a single slot bracket if you want to fit it for water cooling or LN2.

Select which card you want to look at
