Nice, not seen a Gainward card in ages.
Haha. Caved! Let me know what clock speeds to get out of it (if just using air cooling)
I have noticed that my results are around the same for 1500mhz even though my card boosts to 1455 tops. Maybe the ones boosting to 1500mhz do not stay at that constantly or throttle.
Check te memory on your to (samsung / hynix) and asic quality. Samsung, 73% with mine
Would Samsung be the better RAM in this case? Depending on which Hynix line they use, of course.

asic? What does it do? Why is the number important?

I think it's very misunderstood and misused - either that or I misunderstood the whole thing lol
I have a couple of GTX 980 Ti's with 82.7 and 82.3 ASICs, they are monster overclockers on stock volts but can not take any extra volts without crashing.
EVGA sell the higher ASIC quality GPUs for a lot more - http://www.evga.com/articles/00944/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-KINGPIN/
second card arriving tomorrow! Cant wait to get testing with it tomorrow evening
Reference cooler? Prepare thyself for the heat and throttling
Don't answer now, wait til tomorrow or Saturday....
Well if they're under water in time for the warm months then that'd def be good! In the meantime try and get a side fan to feed the top card (like I have currently) or a fan to feed in the front directly in between them (like I did with my 980's). Only helps a little with the temps, but I found that they throttled MUCH less (which helps with overall performance as you'd guess).
Without it I found that my cards throttled down to the 1250-1280 area purely down to the top card heating up so much, but with the side fan I go anywhere between 1420-1500 even though the temp is still at 91c ish
Looks like eVGA are only binning the Kingpins then
So I'm praying for Samsung memory and high asic. What program do you use to test it?
